I freaking love that movie. Especially Sho Nuff. Kiss my converse!

I spent the whole day painting my room and I'm 70% done. I haven't painted an entire room by myself in 5 years and I'm out of breath. Definitely bit waaay more than I could chew and should have paid someone to do it instead.

Painting SUCKS. I painted damn near every wall in our house (and the ceiling) when we got it, and it kicked my ass. You save a ton of money doing it yourself, but by the end of it you wish you'd paid someone to do it. :lol

I'd give an arm for him to sign my copy of The Fly. There's very few people I'd give a **** about to meet, and he's on the short list.

I'm excited just for the chance to see him in person. I don't know if I'll get anything signed until they post his autograph price. He may surprise me by not being too much, but he could charge a couple hundred bucks and people would still pay it. There's only two months until the convention so hopefully they'll post prices soon.

Yeah, I need to save every cent I could. I'll get it done tomorrow so I can move the toys in here.

Anyway, what kind of American Dollars are we talking about to paint a house nowadays?

When I asked around back then I think it ranged from $50-100 a bedroom and more for larger rooms like living rooms--plus buying the paint. Most of the people I asked were local handyman types though--not actual painting companies. Not terrible, but it adds up when you've got an entire house to get done.

He's probably going to be $300 or more.

The Fly is one of those movies I consider pretty damn near perfect. Still terrifying to watch today too.

It's my all time favorite sci fi horror film. I love The Thing dearly, but I slightly put Fly over it. A lot of people at the time thought the Fly transformation was supposed to represent AIDS at the time, but Cronenberg always stated it was a metaphor of the aging process.

I watched it with the commentary and he said he hadn't watched it in years and it disturbed him.

That honestly wouldn't surprise me. I don't think I could rationalize paying more than $100, and I wouldn't really even want to pay that much. I like the guy, but at some point the prices for signatures just get ridiculous. I read somewhere that Michael J. Fox (who is also going to be in Dallas) charges $300-400. :horror **** that.
