Very interesting that this is no longer available anywhere for under retail. I wonder if Sideshow is going to make it OES but only available through them and/or restrict vendors to selling it strictly for $650.

Sideshow is testing a new business strategy with these OES items. :dunno

My guess (and this is just a guess) is that Sideshow is greatly reducing the retailer discount and forcing retailers to sell it for $650; this will ensure that more collectors will order direct through Sideshow massively increasing their profits.

Interesting to say the least...

the retailer I'm getting it through won't have it for PO until Monday, so that will prolly be the last dealer offering a discount. I think your right though, which is so lame. Prolly why not one dealer offered the death LSF. And no, I'm not saying who the dealer is, not until I get my order in :lol

I have no problem with Sideshow trying new strategies to make money (they are a business), however, this is really going to hurt retailers and probably piss them off. If it works, Sideshow will make an insane amount of profit from their OES lines.

I think I have an idea who. Keeping my eye on there as well.

I don't get it, how could the preorder for this be sold out on BBTS, with the open ES and all.....

Because Sideshow is severely limiting the allotment that online retailers get at a retailer discount so that collectors will order it directly through Sideshow at full price.

Very interesting financial twist that was really unexpected.

retailers don't make squat on these open ES pieces, and they know their very existence relies on offering some kind of discount, so if they can't offer a discount, they prolly won't even offer it, but if they do, it will be in limited quantities. If you'll notice, very few retailers even offer the LSF pieces.

You guys who havnt PO this and waiting to get a discount are gonna get ____ed !!!!

Deposit taken by Sideshow today..:rock

As for the piece itself - Saw someone saying that because it is hollow, it's crap, or something within those lines. At 40 lbs, even a hollow Hulk is still...Well, hulky :)

As much as I hate to say it, you may be right. :slap We will NOT get screwed, we will just be forced to pay full retail for it.

Sideshow is going to be raking in the money by forcing collectors to buy OES items direct through them, but I have a feeling they are seriously pissing off their retailers which is a bad idea. I just received an email from a certain online retailer in Hawaii and I know they are none too happy with it.

you guys do realize your PO'd items through other retailers still come from Sideshow right? There's absolutely no difference dealing with a solid retailer, then dealing with SS directly :wave

I live in California so ordering anything from Sideshow or Cornerstorecomics punishes me in taxes; if I ordered direct through Sideshow, I would easily pay $60 in taxes alone. :monkey4

It has nothing to do with the retailer, sideshow is simply not giving them the statue to sell, just like galactus. So sideshow is not only giving us the finger with the open es, they are also slowly killing their own retail network so they make full $ from the website orders.

Dont bother let them pay $100+ more for the same statue shipped from the same place, with so limited stock it's better that way anyway :wink1:

Hollow or solid at that weight I'm very happy.
Just didn't want this to be very light and feel really cheap and fragile. Wouldn't of done the sculpt any justice.
18Kg :rock
The retailer I bought from said he will list 2 at a time and put more up as they sell. As far as I'm aware there is no limit, he has sold quite a lot that I'm aware of and keeps putting more up.
Not at a huge discount but the fact that I don't have to pay V.A.T through him is saving me about £100 ($160).

huh, BBTS has never charged me tax before. Maybe your referring to Cornerstorecomics?

I thought you guys were getting a 10% discount with other retailer as opposed to SS?

I never said I was ordering anything from SS :dunno. I haven't ordered a statue from SS directly since the P1 Ex LSB.
