That's why most of us didn't wait :dunno

Well the only site actually I came across was AP collectibles and it was long sold out before I even got there. So with the options at hand, it's wiser to wait. :impatient:

We all know comic con prototypes are FAAAAR different than in hand pics.
Plus you won't get if it's hollow, how it stacks up against other statues, etc.

For what I seen in the past there is not that much difference at all, latest example look at the joker, I haven't looked that hard but I don't see a significant difference, even the first PF hulk when it was revealed at sdcc there was no difference to the in hand product, atleast nothing worth mentioning.

Look a little harder.

If so nothing that would make me not buy the piece, thats why I didn't say that there is no difference.

The issues people are worried about arn't differences from the prototype to the finished product, as I think you mean, but QA issues.
Poor paint application being the main worry.

Oh, ok thank you for clearing that up, you're right I was thinking it was that.

I have no idea from an international buyers point of view, but since I'm in CA, Sideshow will charge me tax, shipping, and retail price. And since this is 650 bones, that comes out to about $730-750 total. So I can wait lol.

What's the deal with the tax in CA? I've read a lot of threads with folk mentioning it, isn't SS based there?

Because SS is in CA, if they ship to a CA resident, they are required to charge sales tax, which is around 10%.

US Fed Gov is trying to pass a bill that would make all online retailers charge sales tax based on your state of residence/shipping address, so the days of people outside of CA not having to pay tax on purchases may be coming to an end in a couple years (unless your states does not charge any sales tax!).

Paying $650 via Sideshow, and I'm perfectly happy with this.Geez the Drama here for a couple of $50 bucks...:google ... Its only money fools!!

I hate cheap people.

Seriously? That's gonna suck.

yep, and the continious debate of how many of them will be made.:slap

this hobby has become more about the value of a piece than representation of a character or its meaning to you, i like seeing how a lot of this guys act like investors, speculating about value based on ES among other things, i personally still enjoy being impressed by a sculpt, or how the mixed media is executed, value has minimal importance.

This is also a symptom of the massive inflation of the USD (and Euro). Everything costs twice what it used to. It's very hard to justify pouring money into something without considering it's future value.

I collect for the same reason you do. I enjoy the statues. There are much better ways to invest if that is one's intention.

No. It's always been that way. Some people like to collect random whatever and some people like collecting things that are valuable and rare. :lecture
