Forty pounds is plenty and, yeah, this statue is killer. :yess:

Yes sir 40lbs is plenty heavy and yes this is gonna be an amazing statue. Not sure if I am more excited about the or the Batman PF right now. Doesn't matter I guess since both are on the way. Gonna be wild when I am actually looking at these two side by side in my home. Happy times are on the way.

No doubt. First and second quarters next year are jam packed. :hi5:

Black Panthers base was solid?
I don't remember anything on that piece having any weight to it then I found his leg clean broken off! :panic:
I've had the chance to buy the Ex for less than I payed for the regular but don't like light cast pieces.

The base is heavy. Black Panther's hand and head are filled as well. Very underrated statue. I have the EX.

Skaar's base is heavy as well.

That was not the case with Skaar. Someone in the Skaar thread said that his base has a piece that is rattling around in it. That means that it's not solid. I can't speak on the BP base, I don't own it nor have I seen it in person. I'm not claiming the base will be completely hollow on the maquette, but I'm fairly certain it will be hollow in some parts.

I own Skaar. If it's hollow, it certainly isn't by much. The base has a fair weight to it.

I own the EX Skaar as well. The member in the Skaar thread asked if he should return the piece because the base rattled when he picked it up. Otherwise his statue was in perfect shape. It is hollow, even if it's just in part. It most certainly has good heft to it. The only reason I mention it is to say that the days of solid pieces are over with. Those grail pieces made many years ago were solid. Because of costs and profits, you won't see that from SSC anymore.

I really have no issue with that. I don't need my statues to weigh 50 lbs. I just want them to be well made. Skaar certainly filled that bill. I think that the Hulk maquette will do the same for everyone that picks him up. However, the maquette would be very heavy if it was solid. It would easily eclipse the weight of the original PF. With how big the base is on the maquette, I think that alone would weigh over 20 lbs.

I don't know about anyone else here but I do worry about a shelf collapsing if I have a 50 lbs statue on it. I'm good with a well made piece that has decent heft to it, even if it's hollow in parts.

All my heavy pieces have their own table.
I have my Terminator Bust and Spider-man V's Venom & Sandman in the bottom of my cabinet.
My P1 LSB caused me a headache with the weight. Was planning on that going in a cabinet with P2 but no chance of that.
Need to shift my Abomination PF to make room for Hulk.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. :lol The only way to safely display such heavy pieces is by putting them on the top or bottom of a display case or separate tables. On top of that, you have to do a lot of shifting of pieces when the next heavy statue arrives. It also limits your display options to the top or bottom shelves. Some pieces don't display as well from those extreme angles. However, to be certain the shelves don't collapse, that may be the only place to put them.

Oh well, let SSC keep cranking out great looking statues, I'll figure out where I'm going to put them.
