Note: the jacket isn't that bright in real life, it's just the photo. It's actually very screen accurate in real life. A nice, dark purple.

I think the piece over all looks fine... I just don't see heath ledger in head sculpt.

Neither do I, but I am waiting to see if someone repaints it, or takes the make up to see if there is any FACIAL likeness underneath the paint because I thought the same thing about EBs because of the head shape until someone removed the paint.

That's good to know.

Good pics Nuri, really love the futzing of the coat but the pose looks really awful here in all the figure shots.

Can you take some pics profile shots like you did here but of the whole figure this time?

Thanks dude. It was a mess when I took it out of the box (the tailoring), so I hit it with the steamer for a while and adjusted things to my liking. The wires in the coat make it a bit difficult to get the front to lay exactly how you want but its doable, and I love the wires as they add to the dynamic nature of the pose which allows me to pose the coat as though wind is blowing through it. It wasn't as easily to manipulate as the DX11 coat though, given that it's an articulated figure, as this is a statue and the clothes hug the body fairly tightly which made it difficult to adjust things exactly as I wanted.

Sorry you don't like the pose in the shots man. Wasn't really something I was thinking about when taking the pictures to be honest, was mainly trying to show the sculpt. The pose is a bit awkward and as you know, I wasn't much of a fan from the start, but it has grown on me. It's a bit hard to photograph and get it to look nice. I think this is one of those pieces that people will either love it or hate it due to the pose, but it really needs to be futzed properly otherwise it just looks bad.

Yeah for sure man. I will do that tomorrow during the day as I'm able to take better pics with natural light coming through. He certainly looks best from that angle for sure, and makes a great display with Batman IMO. I'll try and take pics of both together.

Well nevertheless, you did an amazing job! :clap

Nothing to feel sorry about, I was just making a statement, now I understand you were more concerned about showing off the sculpt I get why you took those pics. Surprized you didn't take more pictures where you can see the portrait though.

For me that is the deal breaker but for others it's the sculpt.

Cool thanks.

Beautiful shots, xpl0sive. Well-futzed clothing, too. Sculpt and pose may not be for everyone, but if only every SSC figure would turn out this good and close to prototype paint and tailoring, I can see more people pre-ordering their figures with confidence. If I had this figure though I might revise the eye make up and make it look more natural like Enterbay's.

In those profile shots I can see similarities between SSC's and Hot Toys' various Joker headsculpts, and in those sculpts I see the strongest resemblance to Ledger's in side view. Fabric on suit, pants, and coat also look like they're of good quality.

Yeah it's amazing how well this turned out from proto to product as far as accuracy is concerned.

Your kidding me right? EB's make up is the reason why most people couldn't see Ledger (including me), EBs looked like Brandon Lee as the Crow because the shape of the head is too skinny and long.

And that's the problem with all those sculpts, on that angle those sculpts have some resemblance but they totally fail on the portrait.

Totally NOT KIDDING. What I mean by Enterbay's paint being more natural-looking is that they got the smudges and runs and drips on the eye paint more natural-looking for a collectible, unlike others where you can see that they're painted on with brushstrokes that make them appear as if they're overly large eyelashes, or sometimes too clean with an airbrush.

I love the EB Joker paint because it makes me see Ledger's Joker -- NOT LEDGER himself. I think the problem with most of OC LEdger Joker collectors is that you want to see Ledger THE ACTOR under all that make up or sculpt paint app, not THE JOKER he portrayed that even a good paintjob like EB's would make you hate a good sculpt. I want to see LEdger's Joker. If I wanted to see Ledger the actor I'd strip off the paint. Man, if I didn't know better and hadn't read all the casting announcements 10 years ago, I wouldn't know that it was Ledger playing that psycho-clown even if I had seen a lot of his movies prior.

Ok that makes sense.

No it doesn't they got the make up style totally wrong.

U have totally got the wrong idea, what I meant was when you stripped off the paint, that showed that there was actually likeness to Ledger on the sculpt.

Ledger's make up on film varied on several scenes. Unless you memorized every smudge detail on every frame and every scene, then yeah, perhaps I'd take your word that EB got the make-up style wrong.

And no, you didn't get what I meant about that last part, just like the time you didn't get what I was trying to say over at the DX11 thread but you said that I didn't get what was being talked about.

I hope you get to find that perfect Ledger Joker for you to enjoy and be stressed less on, man.

Awesome piece, finally had a chance to open mine. My sculpt looks good, everything else A+!!

Thanks bro. Agreed, the transition from prototype to production was done perfectly IMO. The paint job on the head is fantastic, the base was done well, the tailoring and clothing quality is top notch (just needs a bit of time to be futzed correctly). I had a lot of doubts that they'd pull this off when I first saw the prototype, so I was pleasantly surprised when they did. If only all their pieces turned out this good.

In regards to the sculpt, you're correct. It has a very strong resemblance to the DX11 sculpt from Hot Toys. I said in an earlier review a few pages back that the sculpt looks like the DX11 sculpt, but better. Its almost like they used the DX11 for reference lol. The head shape is a bit better on this, the eyes are better and the hair length is a bit better. The facial expression is very similar.

The likeness looks best from profile and on angles. It tends to get lost a bit as you view it from directly front on. His hunched over pose and angled down head make it hard to photograph and capture the way it looks in person though.

Because it is.
Well those of us who do not want to pay a grand for enterbays is happy with this. Calling it cheap looking is not accurate. You come across as an overly critical person. Trying to be PC in my statement. It's is far from cheap looking. Is it perfect? No. You have not seen it in person and the pics look really good. I am trying to keep an open mind and have my expectations too high. You don't need to be overly critical.

So, when the table is turned you don't like it yet you have no problem dropping in this thread just to repeat how bad you think this piece is?

And yes, the Momtoys IS a cheap knockoff of the EB.

Finally got a chance to unbox mine today and was pleasantly surprised. I really thought I'd hate this because of the head sculpt. The HS is definitely off. It's not a decent likeliness to Ledger and that's where they really missed the mark. That being said, at this scale, and the angle in which it's intended to be displayed, it's not anywhere near as noticeable as it is in these close up pics. As a stand alone piece, it's okay but overall underwhelming. Together with bats is where this piece really comes to life. They really look great together.

Here's a quick, crappy pic. I haven't had time to futz with Bat's cape or Joker's jacket yet but you get the idea...
