Finally got a chance to unbox mine today and was pleasantly surprised. I really thought I'd hate this because of the head sculpt. The HS is definitely off. It's not a decent likeliness to Ledger and that's where they really missed the mark. That being said, at this scale, and the angle in which it's intended to be displayed, it's not anywhere near as noticeable as it is in these close up pics. As a stand alone piece, it's okay but overall underwhelming. Together with bats is where this piece really comes to life. They really look great together.

Here's a quick, crappy pic. I haven't had time to futz with Bat's cape or Joker's jacket yet but you get the idea...

Ledger's make up on film varied on several scenes. Unless you memorized every smudge detail on every frame and every scene, then yeah, perhaps I'd take your word that EB got the make-up style wrong.

It doesn't matter if the make up varied from scene to scene, the stock paint on EBs Joker doesn't represent the iconic make up looks of the Joker. IMO Their paint style also reduced the likeness of Ledger significantly.

These EB repaints represent the iconic make up looks the Joker had in the film.









Now if you think EBs Joker still looks like Leger's Joker then that's your opinion and that is fine, even though I disagree with that. I am not saying you are wrong, I am just pointing out that the stock paint on EBs Joker doesn't represent any of the iconic make up looks he had in the film.

And no, you didn't get what I meant about that last part, just like the time you didn't get what I was trying to say over at the DX11 thread but you said that I didn't get what was being talked about.

I didn't say that, and I am sorry you took it that way, what I meant was that there was another even bigger issue than what you were saying. That doesn't mean I am implying you are wrong, just saying there was more to it is all.

Couldn't be bothered putting the cape on Batman as I had to take him out of the box for the pic, just decided to put them together to give people an idea of how they look together.

Comparing the 2 pics, no, it looks like the one in the proto pic you shared is turned clockwise more, so I'd say mine isn't directly on the side based on that pic. Happy to take another one.

In saying that, what do you see that's different about the tailoring? Because it honestly looks identical to me if it's the colours your referring to, that's just my pic. The purple isn't that vibrant in real life. It's actually very close to the proto. Colours can't really be judged in pics as they can be manipulated easily.

But yeah, I'm looking at the statue right now in front of me, and looking at the proto pic you shared, and I'm honestly struggling to tell the difference, other than the way the jacket is posed.

I thought that might be the case, but the bases seem to be on the same angle, so I wasn't sure.

I think it just meant to be a tribute piece, so they blended a lot things in together.

Not every statue needs to be posed from a scene in a movie. Whilst some may be inspired by scenes in a movie, it may not be an exact replica of a specific scene.

In saying that, the pose on it's own does look strange, but I don't think it was designed to be displayed on it's own, but rather as part of a set with Batman, in which case I do think it looks great, but yep, it does look odd on it's own.

Are you talking about the lapel of the grey blazer? If so, that's just futzing man. I can steam that and press it down so it's nice and flat. I'll do it and show you. The other side is perfectly flat.

Yeah probably, but if there is a difference then it's very subtle as I can't see it, other than the lapel being very flat on the prototype in comparison to mine, but that's no issue as I can easily rectify that. Clothing will vary from figure to figure I'd imagine. I've also seen some with more weathering than mine.

No I am talking about the right side of the entire coat and blazer, both don't flare out on the proto like it appears to on the production piece.

I think it's mainly due to the entire jaw shape, but that long chin makes it look even worse.

I first thought that then I looked at scenes from the movie and realized his buttons are simple ones like Primes ones.




Sideshow got the buttons right for how the suit was displayed in real life.

I agree they look toyish and make the base of the statue look like a toy.

He loses the top 2 buttons after that scene and replaces those with the white smiley face button and the coin button below that. The videos iv watched look as though SS included those 2 buttons although I don't have it in hand. Its a nice touch if they did.

I kinda like the idea of chaos, everything burns, flames idea but I feel SS didn't make a very good job executing them well enough. Not a deal breaker by any means but a bit of a let down .
