I don't think it had to be serious. I can see what they wanted to do and by how it was done the last 20 mins it would work. They just took way too long getting TLR going. Depp was awesome as usual.

I don't mean serious like the Nolan Batman films. the Lone Ranger is a lighter character. But why make the LR a lawyer, when he was always the lawman? If Depp wanted this made so bad he should have been the villain or LR, not Tonto. And the framing device of having an older Tonto tell this story in a circus, adds nothing to the story.

That's actually a detail picked up from the Dynamite comic, I believe. It's a great read!

Legend of the Lone Ranger was pretty good IMHO... Good tale

The final one-sheet is a pretty good example of why most movie one-sheets suck today. Seriously, this should be the "poster boy" (heh) specimen of how NOT to do a one-sheet:

Good god, everything about that is terrible.

I don't know... this basically has all of the same problems as THE AVENGERS one. It just has the added badness of having much less cool subject matter to work with.

And the largest character on the poster is Helena Bonham Carter. Seriously??? This looks like something TheOnion would put together as a joke.

That thing is so ****ing busy; I'm half surprised that they don't have one of the cannibalistic bunnies in the foreground, and fading "mount Rushmore-esque" images of old Tonto and Kid Ranger on the horizon.:lol

It's (supposed to be) a LONE RANGER movie. If anything, Silver should be bigger on the poster than Helena Derivative Performance Carter.

Oh I agree.

It's the fact that he's standing up on his rear legs ontop of curved train roof while its moving over a bridge that makes me crack up.

Just zoom in on that absurdity. :lol
