I love that the eight episode season can pretty much stand on its own, and doesn't really "require" any more episodes, cause I have a sinking feeling that now that this was a runaway smash hit, and TROS will be forgotten in a few weeks, that more people are going to insist on getting their fingers in the pie.

What a shame. It seems like Filoni and Favreau were able to quietly make this amazing piece of art while the corporate overlords were distracted with the movies, but that's not gonna be the case for the second season.

Sadly agree. To the ruin of us all.

Shame Feige isn't in charge yet to run interference. My slim hope is that at least for season 2, Favreau was already at work before TROS was even released - said something about the actors being tired at a premiere (might have been TROS) as they'd been on set all day. Plus, he's got a proven track record. Maybe he can fend off idiots who decide that gee, Mando just happens to trip over a female baby Yoda stowaway ('coz if one is good two is better).

So if the base filming/script was done, and the actors have other commitments - maybe season 2 will skate under the wire from corporate ruination.

I know it sounds romantic and sexy and just full of win that KK has absolutely nothing to do with Mando but my gut tells me otherwise based off various photos of her on the set of Mando with GL, Filoni and Fav.

It could still very well be the case and those are just for saving face and the reality is that she is relegated to the basement where Iger, GL and Spielberg are punching her in the stomach while urinating on her head as punishment for the decline in box office and Fav is already running LF lol

They'll lie even if KK is being eased out. Stockholders don't like management negativity. But stockholders have friends and family too and it's not like they don't read. Or go to stores where unwanted ST merch ends up at 75% clearance or the dollar store.

And she was picked by Lucas before he sold to Disney, not Iger. It's not hard to imagine that Iger would like to install his own choice to head this bauble that cost $4 billion and has generated some headaches since. It's also not hard to imagine that Iger has not enjoyed the negative noise around the franchise, despite the nearly $5 billion in global box office from Disney's four installments since 2015.

Just watch The Expanse and Lost in Space between episodes for action satisfaction, and the Mandalorian for the Star Wars feel. If you watch it high you might even think it’s all Star Wars! “Look baby Yoda is headed toward that ring with all the planets, now the robot is helping him!”

I have never seen a studio drop the ball and be unprepared as bad as this.

At least have another SW or MCU show ready to go in January or February and another for the spring then another for the summer.

But to have nothing until next November lol

People will never forgive KK for TLJ. Its simple sour grapes to constantly bash her, it also borderline he-man woman hater club level stupidity.

She has been involved in so many steller productions .....but of course she CANT have anything to do with a successful SW TV show....she a girl.

Its such mental gymnastics to support a bias it sad.

Hell, GL made the PT and people still call him perfect and curse KK...

It's documented fact that she ordered certain stuff into the ST like Leia Poppins. It's also well known that Rian Johnson is her boy so who else is to blame for that agenda driven mess? She did a Star Wars trilogy without a plan that destroyed it's mythos and heroes in the process.

And if you can objectively read between the lines at all it's obvious Favreau is behind The Mandalorian, Kennedy just gets her name on it because she is currently still head of Lucasfilm. But not likely for too much longer

She's been involed as a producer on other "stellar projects" she's never been a part of the creative force behind these projects, she's always had Lucas or Spielberg handle that. We also know that Jon Favreau pretty much wrote the whole first season before bringing it to Kennedy... So how was she a part of it? she might be a great producer but as far as being in charge of things she kind of sucks and it has nothing to do with her being female.

It was also pretty stupid of her to join Johnson in a social media war with fans, she should of just ignored them instead of accusing all white males as being the problem... Sure there were some racist/sexist people on social media saying stupid things but for her to single out a specific group based on skin color and gender was a huge mistake and shows you the double standard that women can get away saying stuff like that yet if a guy says it they would be crucified.

Shows are produced one season per year.

The only thing that?s changed is seasons have gotten a lot shorter. Used to be 30 or more episodes a year. Now some shows go as low as three episodes a year.

How exactly did they dropped the ball when this is how things are now? Were you expecting them to create two seasons in a year???

Series are getting so short now that I've been getting through them in a couple of days - Impulse, Jack Ryan, Daybreak, The End of the ****ing World, Titans, His Dark Materials, Lost in Space, The Witcher.

The ones that go on longer have been things like Supergirl, The Flash and Arrow. Though even the final season of Arrow is only ten episodes.

It is the way.
