Yup in the episode the SP say that the dragon lives in an abandoned sarlaac pit to which Cobb responds there is no such thing and this is when Mando states it can exist if the dragon eats it.

1+1 = 2

Yeah, I heard him say that, but I wasn't sure if that is fact or just what Mando assumed. It's cool with me either way...

I don't think the Krayt killed just one Sarlacc. It's lair was said to be an abandoned Sarlacc Pit but that cave obviously wasn't the one that Fett fell into. I think it was a different Sarlacc but it allowed us to indirectly learn how Fett escaped the one he was in without being digested for a thousand years. Unless I'm not connecting the dots properly.

Just watched it again. Man this may be my favorite episode yet and part of what's great about it is that even though it ends with a cliffhanger it really is an extremely satisfying self-contained episode. A few thoughts:

1. I didn't notice the first time around that Favreau himself directed this episode. Hell yeah give him a freaking movie or convince him to helm as many of these episodes as possible.

2. The Jeepers Creepers bartender shouting "They're monsters!" may be the new funniest moment in all of Star Wars, lol.

3. I can't believe that we have a weekly Star Wars show with better visuals than six of the nine Saga films.

4. Yep jye that Lawrence of Arabia music during the Bantha caravan was absolutely epic.

5. Cobb is just a tremendously likable character. Great charisma, off-beat swagger, and comedic timing. Watching him lose his temper over a *Tusken Raider refusing to sit down* was just another moment so awesomely bizarre I couldn't help but laugh out loud.

His "Unforgiven" moment in the bar with the mining goons was great and the fact that he grabbed his gun and helmet to take on the Krayt *by himself* with or without Mando makes him an instant top shelf badass no matter how dopey he sometimes looked in the suit. Plus he didn't scream like a girl when someone turned his jetpack on by surprise, lol. I definitely want him on his pod racer bike in 1:6 scale.

6. I really like that this episode re-established post-"Baby Yoda Mania" that this show is called "The Mandalorian."

7. I liked the seeming nods to 1981's Dragonslayer. Mando using himself as bait like the wizard but then remotely detonating the creature after the monster took the bait like the apprentice. Then leaving a gory rib cage corpse for everyone to celebrate over.

8. Mando flying out of the Krayt's mouth after being swallowed was a great stand-in for what so many of us probably pictured when we imagined how Fett might have escaped way back when the EU first declared that he survived. So it was awesome to see a version of that play out on screen. So epic.

9. The 4K picture was fantastic, even via streaming. Several scenes almost looked HFR as a result.

When this series has run it's course I won't be the least bit surprised if this episode is one of the ones I revisit the most.

The tunnel could be long enough that it could lead to Fett?s Sarlaac but even then I do think it was a huge clue to where they are going with that exposition being given in a very well written manner I might add.

The whole episode was just brilliantly written.

I assume Ashoka will be revealed come Filoni?s episode so # 5 it will be.

I?m really curious what Robert Rodriquez episode will be like with him coming off Alita.

Mando Machete lol

AND YES I love it that BY took a back seat to a sheriff actually risky and brave on their part.

Heck yeah it was. And hopefully with Favreau's clout we'll leave all further SJW-isms in the past. Hmm a remote mining town that is 99% men, wow what a concept, lol.

They should have just had Ahsoka be a photoreal CG character like Alita and let Eckstein continue to voice her.

Mando Machete lol

:lol

Ha ha yes literally, lol.

Ha ha yes literally, lol.

Even the sand women stayed behind lol

But not going to lie i’m happy they have an actress playing her I kind of want to leave behind the CGI clone army and go with real guys in armor which means a real Ashoka.

Plus she is super hot lol

We don?t really know if that was indeed Boba Fett at the end of the episode ...what if the swerve..is that he was a stormtrooper clone given the that this takes place after ROTJ

So I won?t get my hopes up just yet :dunno

Even the sand women stayed behind lol

And the one cute girl from town who did go with the men was so dumb that she armed the detonator while 20 people were still standing directly over the bombs, lol.

Hmm that is true, good point. Okay bring on hot live-action Ahsoka, lol.

It was kind of funny how dramatic they made it seem that Mando was communicating with the Sandpeople in that gorge scene with Cobb and the dogs. We'd literally seen him do that not once but twice previously (and earlier in that same episode no less) but then when the tuskens step out into the open the show acts like we're going to be all "whoa, sandpeople!" lol.

Just like with BY ultimately Ashoka will be a mix of a live action Rosario/Stunt Double and cgi creation so we will be getting the best of both worlds.

Leave the full cgi for the huge creatures.

I thought about that at first but then I figured the tension was meant to put us in Cobb’s shoes from his point of view.

True. Too bad they couldn't keep her a secret.

Okay I can go with that.

Saw it on a giant screen in VR with the brother's new Quest 2 thingy - ''I don't know tech stuff''.

Well, thoroughly enjoyed it. That is all.

Points 1, 5, and 6 are my favorite.

Favreau should be put in charge of Star Wars immediately. EVERYTHING to do with Star Wars. He gets it, and knows how to do it...period.

Olyphant is wildly entertaining and really has a knack for delivering lines. Perfect for this show. I've said it before, but anybody who hasn't seen Deadwood or Justified needs to give them a watch.

I'll be happy to see more of the Child in future episodes but it was indeed nice to see Mando established as the focus in episode one alongside Vanth.

Also addressing one of your other posts I think there is an even more overt callback to Jaws in the scene where a clumsy Tusken drops the explosive. I need to watch Jaws again to compare.

I enjoy the show, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't help feel that it was pointless. Just like several episodes in the first season.

To a degree, it's already repeating itself. Felt very similar to the mid season episode last year. Where they helped the village defend themselves.

While I enjoy it, I feel like this show gets way too much credit. You guys complain about the movies using nostalgia and call backs, but don't complain about it on this show? Cause this show is just as, if not more guilty of that than the movies were.

My main complaint of the ST was that there weren’t more OT call backs lol

It deserves all the credit it gets. For an hour I was able to forget the ****storm that we're in and I love it for that.

Mando did have one stupid line.

When the dragon comes up from the sand after retreating from the mountain top Mando says “There he is!”

Thank you captain obvious lol
