I enjoy the show, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't help feel that it was pointless. Just like several episodes in the first season.

To a degree, it's already repeating itself. Felt very similar to the mid season episode last year. Where they helped the village defend themselves.

Agreed, it felt like another episode of 'The A-Team' to me.

Anyway, just wanted to post this:

It deserves all the credit it gets. For an hour I was able to forget the ****storm that we're in and I love it for that.

Exactly. The nod's and callbacks fit and actually feel like treats. Not just nonsense to sprinkle in for trailers to get people to buy movie tickets.

Like R5 was in it and you saw the damage from the bad motivator. But if he was in the ST, they would've probably had a line mentioning it or how Cobb Vanth's speeder used to belong to an 8 year old Pod racing champion:lol

Thats a great point. The easter eggs are there in the mandalorian but they don't beat you over the head with it with some type of exposition.

Fans get the easter eggs and it's a good thing. The world of Star Wars is so fun to get lost in every week, even the sound of a door closing or a blaster firing will bring back great memories. I saw a cool comparison video today where it showed the sound of the krayt dragon is based off the same exact sound Obi-Wan made from the original theatrical cut of ANH, and not the SE or bluray. It feels so great knowing this little corner of the franchise is being treated with proper love and respect again.

Good god, I remember eons ago when I read about that weird sound he made being a beast that the Sandpeople were scarred of... I think they may have even called it a Krayt dragon. That is one of the cooler surprises (nods).

You know for 43 years I've always assumed that Old Ben's ruse was that HE was some sort of growling monster that spooked that Sandpeople. But now after watching this latest episode of Mando I finally realize that it plays better as him *running* from a massive Krayt with the Sandpeople not wanting to stick around to see what is chasing him. Duh, lol.

Best part of the episode for me. I know Favreau truly knows his stuff but even then I was like ?woah?.

It was him imitating a Krayt Dragon to scare off the Sandpeople.

Tons of trivia and lore was packed into Decipher's CCG from back in the day.

I learned everything I needed to know about Star Wars from those cards. Cantina alien names, Jabba's palace alien names, Imperial officer names ... every prop, character or event had a card in that game, plus a bit of lore on top of that.

Didn't we discuss Obi-Wan's Krayt dragon sound on here recently? Someone said that he probably couldn't have made that sound himself and that he instead just made the Sandpeople think they heard it.

Banthas had a rough time in this episode. I felt really bad for the one that was saddled with the explosives - he did not want to be there and he saw his death coming

If so, how did we hear it?

And why did Lucas feel compelled to change it?

So that we might have some vague idea of what was going on.

Because Lucas gonna Lucas.

:lol

Rose would have pushed the Bantha with the bombs out of the Krayt's mouth and then made out with Mando while the rest of the townspeople got devoured behind them.
