Haven't even finished S1. :chase

I know, it's ironic as Palps would say.

But don't joke about the inevitable SW/MCU crossover! :lecture

I know that you like the OT.

I know that you like the PT.

I know that you dislike the ST.

Everyone that follows that same path absolutely loves Mandalorian.

This does not compute lol

I obviously need to give it another chance, but The Child was a major turnoff for me (even worse than Ewoks and Gungans, and on the same level as Baby Groot). Yes, I'm a grumpy, humourless old man!

As for the ST, I put TFA and TLJ above the PT (or on the same level as ROTS) but TROS below.

I have been working very hard to keep away from any spoilers....it?s worked.
I really wish Youtube would get their crap together and Ban people who put spoilers in the thumbnails the moment a episode is over.

Olyphant was a total shock , Boba less so, but only because I knew fan pressure would make it inevitable.

On a lighter side, I hope he dies again in another stupid way.

I still have yet to watch the 1st episode.. Was it just a 1/2 hour. I am thinking of letting a few build up before I start watching.

55ish minutes I believe.

Edit: ....wait, we aren't talking about JYE's program are we?

Well I just went ahead and watched it.

I don't know there is just something about the show that does not fully grab me. It just feels too much like an older TV show. Much of that has to do with the music. Ive said that before but the music is a big reason for that TV feel.

I found my self LOLing at the Mando / Tuskan raider dialogue.. Was that supposed to be kind of stupid / funny :lol

The Marshal telling his story while riding on Anakin's Pod racer parts made me roll my eyes.. I hate when movies and shows act like talking from vehicle to vehicle is just like sitting at a table.

Skinny Arms and legs Gamorrean Guards :lol

Giant sand worm coming at Mondo and Marshal.. Plain as day.. and Mando says "there it is" lol.. Thanks captain obvious.

While I do not mind this.. People that love the show should not complain about any fan service in the ST / PT / or spin offs.. I mean R5-D4, Gamorrean Guards, Anakin's Pod racer engine.. I dont mind fan service.. It always makes me smile for the most part so I never understand why people complain about it. Well except for the Pando Baba and Cornelius Evazn in RO... Ugh I hated that one.

I cant help but think of The Holiday special and Bea Arthur every time Mando meets up with that old lady on Tatooine.. She just feels so out of place.

I did like TO being in the show as I have always liked him as an actor.

The Sand worm thing was very cool.

I loved the subtle change of the aspect ratio to help the creature look bigger.. That was awesome!!!

Overall it was ok... I really hope the show starts dealing more with the recurring villain.. I am not a huge fan of the Adventure of the week style of storytelling that the show has been doing.. I need more of a running storyline.

I think if I was a bigger fan of Mando as a character it would help. Not ever seeing his face does not help. Hard to warm up to him as a character. He's OK but I would think after 9 episodes I would be more invested.

Its an easy enough watch as I love the SW Universe. I just don't get the huge amounts of love that it gets.

6.5/10

5 full points for super awesome Sand worm and the way it was shot.

I enjoy the show, don't get me wrong, but I couldn't help feel that it was pointless. Just like several episodes in the first season.

To a degree, it's already repeating itself. Felt very similar to the mid season episode last year. Where they helped the village defend themselves.

While I enjoy it, I feel like this show gets way too much credit. You guys complain about the movies using nostalgia and call backs, but don't complain about it on this show? Cause this show is just as, if not more guilty of that than the movies were.

Went back and found this quote.. Pretty much how I feel as you can see from my post above.. I keep waiting for the show to suck me in but its just not doing it. Episodes have been Ok.. But if not for being in the SW universe I would not give this show a second thought and would never made it to season 2.

And yeah.. and I dont get the people "complain about the movies using nostalgia and call backs, but don't complain about it on this show?"

as you said and I said in my little review "this show is just as, if not more guilty of that than the movies were"

Why do people have such an issue with Temeura Morrissons dub in ESB? Boba is literally a clone of Jango, of course he's going to sound the same, just so happened that George most likely hadn't figured out the clone backstory and casting at that point. It'd be worse if he'd just left the original voice whilst having Boba be a clone of Jango.

My biggest issue is I love the voice of the original Fett. He sounds so bad ass.. The new dub sounds so... Boring.. Yuck I hate it.

Plus I hated Fett being a clone of Jango and thus having to have his voice.. Lucas' changes of the OT are infuriating

Mando did have one stupid line.

When the dragon comes up from the sand after retreating from the mountain top Mando says ?There he is!?

Thank you captain obvious lol

I swear I did not read this when I wrote my thoughts about the episode. :lol

Giant sand worm coming at Mondo and Marshal.. Plain as day.. and Mando says "there it is" lol.. Thanks captain obvious.

I love how this show is somehow able to project the grandeur of $300 million IMAX epics while continuously utilizing super geek SW lore and never straying too far from Muppet Show/Holiday Special wackiness. Who knows how long this will last but for now at least it is definitely something special.

Other then the Big Sand worm I dont think the show feels like a big budget movie.. I still think it has the feel of a TV show.

Again I think I blame the musical score.. It plays too quiet or something.. It does not suck me in.. Nothing about the show really does. :(
