What if?... The captain and Grogu hit it off

The colorful Mandos on the beach reminded me of the Vespa Gang, with the difference being that the Vespa Gang were more competent warriors. :monkey3
I get the feeling this season of Mando is going to cause the delay and de-prioritizing of every non-Star Wars figure Hot Toys currently has on the slate. :rolleyes2

Kinda of an interesting interview, he starts asking questions himself to get a better understanding of what the fans think. Giving hope that Bob A Feet was just a fluke.

It might…the Kang saga isn’t supposed to start until later this year and this summer is kind of minimal in what is releasing in D+ MCU franchise ..so I’d think HT isn’t prioritizing the MCU for a while and the money maker is what the Mando S3 will offer …if it does bring anything to the table…Also Ashoka will start this year as well…Yes I know there is Secret Invasion and Loki S2 this year…but I see SW is going to dominate the summer

Im actually down with having seen the vespa gang get eaten by the Lake Placid alligator.

I would not say they were more competent warriors, the Mandos at least had a plan that didnt revolve around Girl Power. I'll give em that much. I did question the placement of grappling hooks on a creature of that size; are we on the Dune set all the sudden? Did we call the Maker? What exactly do you think youre gonna do, guys, wrestle that thing into submission? Tsk.

The Armorer was going to make Paz's son drink that icky lake water. Ugh. Thats just mean. (I say it was his son, because they kept cutting between the two.) Paz is gonna owe Mando for saving his sons life.

Mandalorians procreate without taking off their Boba Fett helmets? Sounds like a Star Wars incel's greatest fantasy, lol.

Bruh never did I say that, in fact the opposite.

My earlier comment re this concept was a joke. "The helmet stays on" is a running joke amongst a certain portion of the Mando fanbase and has been since season 1, but its not seriously meant. It doesnt make logical sense anyways: why would they need to keep the helmets on? Just turn off the lights. No one sees anything. Much less sweaty that way too. 😏

Thank you for coming to my Mandalorian Reproductive Issues TED talk, part two. Lol!

On a similar tangent, I kinda got the idea that maybe Din and Bo were/are going to become betrothed and then have more Mando children, especially when she said "I am the last in my line." :unsure: But of course I suspect what the story could lead to would be them eventually battling for the Darksaber with a very heated confrontation.

Im hereby predicting that Din and Bo are going to end up ruling Mandalore together, even if not this season since Favreau seems to have not much of an idea where he wants this series to go. They will have to settle their differences first of course.

I dont know that Bo will physically bear children, due to her age and due to inclination - she is a warrior, not the nursery type. But, adoption. And this is Star Wars, exogenesis is a thing here. We'll see what happens, I've been wrong before.

I forget, did Mando go to Carl Weathers specifically to get IG-11 reconstructed or was it just an idea he had when he saw the tribute monument in the town square?

If the former, and he somehow knew the droid could be restored - why'd it take this long for him to have it done? #Droidlivesmatter

Because the writing is sloppy.

Was planning on waiting so could watch this and ep2 together but had half hour to kill so watched this. May as well have waited.
Overall it was OK, about the same as the more meh episodes from the previous seasons.

Some smaller details I didn't like;
Hilariously dumb and ineffectual Mandos, thought these guys were supposes to be elite, best warriors ever.
Stupid old world sounding pirates.
Stupid sea weed pirate captain.
The entire sequence with Mando and Armorer which is a retread of the scene in BoBF.
Clunky dialogue.

Larger problem;
The resurrection. No one is ever really dead. This constant bringing back characters really undermines meaningly moments and sacrifices.

Bigger problems that potentially harm the entire show;
Videogame/table top RPG fetch quest story structures. Go here, fetch that/kill that. The previous season had the same. Main quest, find Jedi to take/train Grogu. Side quest, kill dragon, find other Mandos, fix ship etc etc.
This season, main quest, go to Mandalore. Side quest, fix droid, find needed part to fix droid, fight pirates, when droid fixed go to Mandalore etc etc.
The return of Grogu. Undermines season 2 finale. Back to same old "lone wolf and cub" gimmick.
That and personally I'm sick to death of the letting green frog creature.

Positives; just dumb swashbuckling fun I guess. Enjoyable enough, just don't examine it all too much.

Future episodes might improve and some of the smaller issues may well not be a factor going forward. However, my issues with the overall way the plot is structured, main quest, side quest and the return of Grogu have the potential to really drag this season down.

Oh well, it's not as bad as BoBF or Kenobi, so I'm expecting overall swashbuckling fun but nothing too deep, not particularly good dialogue or acting etc.

As of yet LOL.

It's definitely a fun show -- at its best. Given that it's been uneven since S1 I don't expect much so I guess that's why I generally enjoy it. Kind of the way I watched Xena and Hercules back in the day.

Definitely sick of Grogu, and not a fan of resurrecting fan favourites but hey, there's a massive audience for this sort of thing and currently I'm part of it, critical or not.

If it spirals and reaches BoBF or Kenobi levels of cringe, I'll immediately cancel because life is too short.

Yeah, very early days but so far it's fitting into the same structure as earlier seasons.
Main quest, side quest, adventure of the week, guest of the week, swashbuckling show.
With Grogu being "cute" all the time.
Maybe it's just that we're on the 3rd season and early indications are that its going to be more of the same, I'm not as enthused as I was when season 1 started.
I still enjoy it as the fun adventure show but I must remember not to expect Andor quality dialogue etc.
It's a space western, space swashbuckling, leave your brain at home adventure of the week show.
Basically live action Bad Batch.
There's plenty of room in Star Wars for this and shows like Andor.
Like you, I'll go along for the ride whilst I'm having fun and jump off, stop watching when I'm not or get too tired of the same formula/structure or I really have enough of Grogu.
