Of course its not designed for that, thrones rarely are designed for slouching. But its very appropriate, since right now Bo isnt designed for the role she's filling, either.

It was a slow paced opener that did a decent amount of world building. Could it have used another 10 minutes? Yes. Did it lack a more explosive hook to get people talking? Yes, but I'm fine with that personally.

It's difficult to come back into a show that has had such amazing action and drama packed highs as The Mandalorian and start a season over again with an episode of just filling up the quest journal. I get that.

But if you're invested in Din Djarin and Grogu's story, their associated characters, cultures, and worlds, it was good to check in on them.

Both the first and second episodes were sent out as press screeners and episode 2 is supposed to have that hook for the rest of the season. So maybe dropping both as the premier might've been better. Anyone truly disappointed with this episode will hopefully have a better time with the next.

I get where you're coming from, but is she so depressed she wants to make herself obviously uncomfortable? Sprawling and slouching is generally casual and comfortable. She looks stiff and unnatural onscreen. YMMV.

...the man did blow up an armored Mosasaur with his ship, shoot up the resurrected corpse of his prior bounty competitor turned babysitter droid, gun down a gang of space pirates in the street and polish it off with an extra-orbital dogfight in an asteroid field.

Not a bad summation. I mean -- I'm well aware of the episode's weaknesses but I still don't think it's BoBF or Kenobi levels of bad, it was never meant to be Andor, and this series has always been really uneven from the beginning.

Nah, I still love the little guy. Just the expressions he gets and the little waddle. I'm still awed by his creation and execution and the whole Mando world in general, and even Boba and the Rasta-tuskens. Still laugh my @ss off thinking about the dust-up over the egg-snarfing baby.

Most of the time, I'm having a ball except with the Filoni re-hash. Like, I'd actually gotten happy at TFA - well, OK, lots of rehash, but Rey & co. were appealing, there was so much that could have grown from the set-up. And then

By the time Mando was getting released, I didn't give a *&^% and suspect a lot of folks didn't either. Heck I only got D+ 'coz I was convinced the MCU series would be awesome.

I'm seeing greatness happen and I'm there for it. Well, unless something really lame happens. But so far so good even with some IMO missteps. Heck just the

asteroid fight was glorious if rehash. When Mando pops up behind the other ships - yassss! Heck even the opening was great with the hammer on metal sound, even if I gotta wonder if that was borrowing from Andor - it works tho.

Not that I trust the professional shills, but supposedly next week picks up the pace...

Comicbook.com’s Adam Barnhardt adds: "#TheMandalorian S3 has a pretty sluggish start with Episode 1... Episode 2 though is incredible in every sense of the word. The Mandalorian lore is some of the most interesting storytelling in all of Star Wars and boy howdy, 3x2 is such a delight."

Here's hoping.

It is pretty wild that they went and added the mando creed unmasking conversation again with the armorer for those that missed seeing that narrative in BOBF.

This time he returned to show her the rock but it was all in the service of repeating his “cleansing” mission again.

Can someone please clarify what Mando meant when he told Bo to “make up her mind” that went over my head lol

Yeah they went out of their way to get everyone up to speed as to why he was exiled but NOT why he was back with Grogu, lol.

Fun and fast episode though.

Not sure if this will clarify or complicate it more:

I think back in season 2 when talking about re-taking Madalor, Djarin said that planet is cursed, everyone who goes there dies. Which she seems to dismiss with - "don't believe everything you hear"
Now he is talking about going there, and she dismisses it as pointless saying - "the planet has been ravaged, plundered and poisoned" nothing left but superstition, so he's reminding her she said the curse was a lie, not to believe everything.

Also she constantly accuses him of belonging to a cult, that gave up on Mandalor, yet was herself a member of Deathwatch, and her own sect rebelled against and conquered her own peacefull sister (not sure how much he knows about that?).

There were plans to retake Mandalor, now she's sitting on her ass apparently resigned without the saber to "wait" for someone else (Djarin himself?) to lead them... yet also says there is nothing left, go home.

I guess the “make up your mind” is him pointing out, she's full of contradictions herself.
Though that may just trigger the excuse she's looking for, to either follow him, or to challenge him for the saber.

They are mostly just building some nice tension.
