Exactly. Airtight continuity is not a requirement for me to enjoy Star Wars.[...]

This is something I accept on a case by case basis. Because the OT was first I forgive a lot.

I don't even mind retcons to the OT...if they're done well.

This is right about where our thinking diverges, for the most part. We each define "well" in radically different ways that I won't subject this thread to. ;)

I know you hate the ST so this will fall on deaf ears but the manner in which Palps "died" and the payoff of his return *are* a positive for me so I'm fine ignoring or handwaving away the minor (IMO) silliness that you need to accept for it to get there.

There's that divergence again. :rotfl

Yep, different strokes and all that. :)

In other news RD posted that they were filming this episode the day George came and got that famous picture taken of him holding Baby Yoda. She said she was just off camera in full Ahsoka makeup. :rock

Can't wait for the NuST that retcons the TrashST.

Mando, Grogu, Ahsoka, Luke, Leia, Han all fighting against Thrawn in an epic trilogy.

Rey could appear in this as well. She has time travel powers. At least I think she has time travel powers. I think we should assume she has all powers until they clearly state she doesn't have them.

Note the Samurai style split toe shoes. :rock

Exactly. Airtight continuity is not a requirement for me to enjoy Star Wars. I don't even mind retcons to the OT...if they're done well. Sure I cry foul at ESB Boba's new voice but if we lived in an alternate universe where somehow Pedro's Mando was actually PT Fett and then George went and had Pedro re-record ESB Fett's dialogue and he actually sounded cool I probably wouldn't have even cared or hell might have even preferred the change.

But break continuity or retcon something to make it *lamer* like tying ESB to kid Fett and TM's utterly half-assed line readings? That's when I start to compartmentalize and get into my own personal/head canon on what is valid and what isn't.

So the Mando series implicating that Ahsoka or other Jedi might have been alive during the OT isn't entirely out of bounds for me if the net result is a positive. Same with Palpatine's return. I know you hate the ST so this will fall on deaf ears but the manner in which Palps "died" and the payoff of his return *are* a positive for me so I'm fine ignoring or handwaving away the minor (IMO) silliness that you need to accept for it to get there.

I agree with this. I feel the ST criticism, while some is warranted, a lot of it is based on picking and choosing when we accept continuity ?bending? or retcons - which we see all through the history of SW - and when we do not. with the ST there just seems to be no mercy while everything pre Disney has a much easier time.
(...sort of connects to the acceptance of (or ignoring of) the political core of the OT and PT (mainly anti fascism) contra to the relentless attacks on - dare I say - the same base values of the ST)

So Filoni has said that the epilogue of Rebels might take place after Mando, so that would mean no Sabine, Ezra or Thrawn in Mando, which I quite like the idea of as that would mean a spin-off instead of taking away from the Mando arc.

I dunno, the mention of Thrawn in Mando would seem utterly gratuitous if he ends up not appearing in this show at some point. It wasn't just a passing reference by a randomer.

If we do see him I doubt it will be in this season, and if it is then it will be right at the end.

Maybe he and Gideon will team up, or maybe they will fight each other and we will have a three way war going on.

Most likely its just to set up a Rebels sequel though, which I dont really mind them doing as I would watch it anyway.

If this is correct, why do you folks think Ahsoka is after Thrawn?

I HIGHLY doubt they are going to connect this series with the ST. They are trying there damndest to move away from it

??? This is pure crazy talk iron.....of course they are!

Disney is a business , and they will connect this to every property. PT included.

Your hate for the ST is blinding you! Try to remember many many fans enjoyed the ST!

Well in the Epilogue she finds Sabine and they both go off to find Ezra so you could assume she knows what happened.

My question is based on the rumor that Rebels epilogue happens after the mando.
