Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Same as collectibles, I think some people just like to use customer reviews and discussion boards to _____ just to _____. A number of times, I've gone to check customer reviews trying to decide on a product and often the negative ones read way out or proportion, or in some cases, I'll even know what they're complaining about enough to know they're complaining without knowing what they're talking about. Unfortunately, trying to get a real perspective on a product requires sifting through a lot to find some real opinions you can rely on.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Most reviews in general will be negative. How many people actually post positive reviews?

I've seen nothing but overwhelmingly positive reviews...

Or are you saying most posts to a support forum will be negative? Then yeah, that's true.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

That's the other unfortunate thing. The positive reviews are often useless too, I don't find, "Great product, awesome!" to be very useful, thankfully some people actually take the time to elaborate and share what they're using it for so you can weigh if the product will work for your purposes.

I meant reviews in general, whether they're about food, service, etc.

Agreed.

I usually use this when talking about people complaining in general. When reading online forums for reviews you'll find not many people go out of their way to write an informed positive review of a product, but rather you'll notice most people only take the time to write about complaints and give a negative review.

~~With the ipad I've noticed the opposite, but most of the reviews seem to be first impressions that IMO are from the hype, and a way to justify their purchase. A lot of reviews are not much more than "This is so fantastic, I love it" or "Great product, Apple has another success." With nothing about an actual review just a statement.

Unfortunately, same applies here, the positive commentary usually ammounts to drive by commentary, not often that people articulate a positive opinion, but the negative stuff will go on forever. You have to talk about negative stuff if you want to have a conversation around here most of the time.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

One thing I'm not a fan of with Apple is monitors, and the idea of them doing a TV isn't very promising to me. Maybe the new monitors are better than the ones that came out with the G5 Macs, but I find them overpriced and flawed when for much less, I see better designs from Dell.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

^^I love the new monitors from Apple, but they have screwed themselves by introducing the new mini-display port and not having an adapter yet for it. Which basically means the only way you can use it is to buy a new laptop or desktop. I've see third parties announce they are making an adapter, but nothing has materialized yet.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Problem I find is I don't really notice anything about their monitors to justify the price difference, the picture quality doesn't strike me as any different from the picture on other monitors that costs much less, so you pay more, and at least with the G5 model, you get a lesser product than you can get elsewhere.

U can say this about every part of a Apple product.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Any product named the "killer" of another product is doomed to failure.

:lecture :lecture Lol....Stop with the mudslinging advertising. If the product is truly great, it'll speak for itself. The only that impressed me from that video was the upgradable memory, which Apple should start doing with their i stuff.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Really? The fully functional multi-tasking operating system, web camera, flash, true USB port, etc. didn't impress you over the ipad?
