Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Good to know, I'm not obsessive about it, just know that it's necessary once in awhile and was curious because it's one thing to treat a $150 phone compared to devices like Apple's touch screen products, lots more money involved.

True. But that's definitely one thing these Apple products have going for them... while the screens look as sleek & cool as possible (and are very responsive to the touch) they do attract fingerprints and finger oils like crazy... BUT they're also easy to wipe off & clean without worry of scratching or harming the screen. So unless you're OCD about keeping the screens completely clear at all times, you'll be fine.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

How is the glare on the iPad screen during the day?

Yesterday unusable. Today, you could probably get by. It all depends on cloud cover. If outside during the day is something you're concerned with, then I'm afraid your princess is in another castle.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

That's one thing they really didn't promote in all the marketing for this, outdoor use. They really pushed using it in a Starbucks type situation or indoors at home.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

'I'm sure the glare is comparable to the iPhone which is a nightmare to use outside without the anti-glare screen. They already have them out for the iPad which I'll definitely be investing in when I purchase.

An anti-glare screen is a must have for the ipad..

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Probably the same way you load your own movies, music, ringtones etc to the iPods and iPhones. Change the file extension and then add to iTunes.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

There is supposed to be a way to load up epub format books. I think you just need to drag your epub file into iTunes...

Yeah if u import them into iTunes u should be good to go. I have just encountered my first problem with iBooks although it might just be my lack of know how with it. Each time I restart the App all the settings I left it at are reset....the brightness, font, size, all get set back to the regular settings. I have yet to see where I can save them so I don't have to do this each time I fire up a book.

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Lot's of people are having problems with overheating wifi..

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

Keep us updated on the comic front because I'd be interested in getting an iPad for something like that.

Me too. Really my sole interest in the iPad is as an e-book/comic reader, pretty much nothing more. I'm not really concerned with applications though, just how comfortable people are finding it for concentrated reading when sitting around on the couch or in bed or just flat on the table like a normal book. Is anyone finding much to complain about there at the moment?

Re: The Apple Tablet "The iPad"

^^^I've read a lot of those. Most seem to be complaining about weak signals. I've had mine on since I brought it home on Saturday no heat problems and no signal strength problems. I've used at home, grandparent's house on Sunday, car dealership this morning while waiting for two hours before they conceded and gave me a loaner (off topic), and restaurant last night.

I guess its just hit or miss. I'd take it straight to the closest Apple store to try and recreate the problem. If you have to ship it back that stinks.
