Will this announcement kill the Kindle and Nook...I'd say the potential is there of course as people would be drawn more to an all in one device. But again, I'd have to see how the iPad looks in an e-reader mode to see if it truly is on par with a Kindle or Nook.
I'd have to see how the reading capability would look like, but if it's like the current iTouch/iPhone screens there is no way I could use it as an e-reader (and I think avid readers would probably have the same opinion). One of the perks of the nook and kindle is that it's like you're reading an actual book (which puts less strain on the eyes), so that is where they have an advantage. So, unless the iPad has that same look, I don't think readers will be happy in the long run with Apple's answer to a kindle or nook.Call me crazy, but this is gonna kill the Kindle and Nook.
