nice! the price is good and really the only thing lacking at the moment seem to be a camera or additional connectivity. Which I am sure they will add in iPad 2.0

Of course, first Gen will be based on certain ideas for what it should be capable of, now that it's really public, people will pour in with "it'd be great if it could this and that" comments and the next generations will work those features in. Given it's size, I imagine some photographers will right in with suggestion for the ability to direct connect your camera or memory card without needing a computer for sync.

More memory, but less functionality. I am glad they still offer the iPod classic though, I prefer memory over function for iPods with all the music I have.

I wonder how many people that already have an iPhone and are not Apple fanboys would buy this. I noticed that since the Iphone came out I hardly use my MacBook unless is for things that the iPhone can't do.

Do I need an iPad? No, my Iphone pretty much does the same things. Sure, a bigger screen and iWorks.

Do I want it? Yes. Am I going to get it? YES!!! But then again I am an Apple fanatic. Not everyone is.

Yes, but it's not touch screen with web function and all that stuff. iPod classic's price tag has a big influence from how much memory and the kind of memory that's in it, iPod touch, iPhone, iPad deal with the added functionality in their pricing more than memory.
