Did anyone tried polishing on the red paint? I was told by someone Novus is safe to use on this kind of paint. I wanted to make the paint more shinier.

100% true. Pictures don't do this piece justice until you have it in person. I absolutely love mine!

has anyone had any issues with the light up on this? I'm pretty sure the adapter or the connection to the base on mine is having issues.

Go get a new adaptor from online or Radio shack and see if that helps

I've been talking to a SS rep about it. Mine is super sensitive. I have to fiddle around with it way too much to get it working again, I shouldn't have to do that cause if I keep having to do that, chances are I'm gonna break or crack something, then I will be seriously pissed. Whenever I move the IM, the lights stop working, does that sound like a base, adapter, or the IM itself issue? I asked to see if it were possible for me to get a new base and see if that would do anything.

I'd start by getting a new power adapter first. That's the easiest part to get, and thus would be either an easy fix or an easy way to rule out the adapter as the problem.

If that doesn't solve anything, then I'd try to get another base. How long have you had it?
