Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

One wonders...
The Hobbit an Unexpected Journey Extended Edition :)

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I just think it would look dumb and would destroy continuity between The Hobbit and LOTR. That's all. :D

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

For the record, I agree about Beorn's animals speaking... But we better get dialouge from Tom, Bert and Bill. Acents and all. :lecture Continuity would be a sad excuse for robbing us of that encounter on the big screen. :(

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Oh I would be upset if the Trolls dialog was cut. Accents and all. It's obvious they aren't the same species of troll as the more brutish animal-like trolls.

Hobbit statues in Fellowship:

Standard LOTR troll:

So it's obvious that Tom, Bert, and William are more human-like than your standard grunting troll.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I've been wondering if they'll match the way they looked when turned to stone in FOTR. Still, I could see Jackson using the other design too. Add some clothing and have them talk and it might still be pretty cool. Either way, that's a scene I look forward to.

I imagine they'll have some kind of clothing on. I mean even the Cave Troll had a little skirt thing on.

Gotta sell toys. No cockandballs in Toys R Us. :lecture

In the trailer they do have loincloths and "suspenders".

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

@Josh, I'm already excited about The Hobbit Part 1 Extended 3D Blu-ray edition. I'm gonna have to ask the Weta team, whether PJ will throw in there all these production blogs . . .

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Yeah, I've already got some excitement building for what we might see in an EE. It's a little silly since we haven't seen the te version but u can't have enough middle-earth. I hope they include the production blogs as well. They're great stuff.

I'll see The Hobbit in 3D once but I'll stick with the 2D versions.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I'm trying REALLY hard not to get too excited on this yet. Unfortunately, if SDCC12 has what I hope it will, I might be a basket case from July until December.

I've failed at the first part. :lol If Comic-Con has what I think and hope it will have I'm with ya it will be craziness for the next several months. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I just really don't see that happening

Now, give me some stuff from Sideshow and Weta as far as statues go and I'm golden.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I would not be surprised at all if HT took this on. HT is a different company than they were back then. (i don't think all the dwarfs will be made, just the mains)
