Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I'm watching the extended edition of The Fellowship of the Ring on Blu Ray and so far it's awesome. It's like watching the film all over again. :D

At the moment, it's seeming like the movie could run around three and a half hours. It has me wondering though... even with all the extra content they are adding to each of the Hobbit films, are they going to be near long enough as the theatrical LOTR releases?

Watched FOTR and TTT today myself. Will watch ROTK tomorrow.

I would say each of the TE of the hobbit films will run 3 hours or close to it and the EE of each will probably put them over.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Hmm. Well, I hope the extended editions are available from the start then.

I only grabbed the extended set of LOTR to have all three on Blu Ray, whereas I had previously resigned myself to being content with the day 1 dvd releases.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

My guess is they will follow the track record of lotr with the TE coming out first and the EE right before the next movie. The only issue for that might be when the last movie comes out during the Summer.

I'm a sucker I suppose. I have every version on DVD and Blu. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

So... you hate hippies, which are basically hobbits, which you've been accused of being. So you hate yourself? :lol

:panic::panic:

Hobbits are hippies?

I don't hate myself. I've learned to embrace my uniqueness.

:peace

Yeah, they both have long hair, smoke the finest green, have severe munchies and don't wear shoes. :lol

I'd love to be a ****ing hobbit. :lol

Ew. God, you can't even do that with Star Wars, lol. Lucas' ass keeps digging a hole with that mess. I'm done buying SW movies. Done. I have them on DVD and have no desire to see what I already own ruined further by dragging it through the proverbial mud.

It's bad enough I have three different versions of Batman Begins and The Dark Knight, as well as all the Iron Man and Underworld films on Blu Ray and dvd both, and now LOTR is on that list. xD

As much as I love Star Wars, or the idea of it, I think I'm content with the dvds... at least for a good while. Same with Harry Potter. Although, that's more due to the fact that I don't feel like updating the first six damn films. :lol

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

If lotr wasn't done so near perfectly the the wonderful source material I might not have all of these. It is though and so I have which is something I don't regret at all.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

It woul have been cool if FOTR and TTT extended editions were as well done as ROTK.

Why try to discuss something with someone who lacks a fundamental understanding of the material? :peace

The Lonely Mountain is a better title. The one they're using gives too much away (compared to the other two), and as has been pointed out, it reads funny.

I'm annoyed it's going to be a trilogy. Not deterred, but still, annoyed.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I almost bought the EE Trilogy on Bluray at Best Buy, but I got the first four seasons of Breaking Bad on Bluray for $30 less. I think I'll stick with the DVDs. Despite Josh's assurance, this green tinted transfer or FotR concerns me. It's all over the web complete with screenshots! I'll hold out for some LotR/Hobbit box set. Maybe it'll be fixed by then?

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Wise choice on Breaking Bad.

I really need LOTR on Blu though. I haven't heard of the "green" problem though. What's the deal with it?

Look at reviews on Amazon or Google search FotR green tint. It looks like the Matrix! Apparently TTT and RotK don't look like that...

I'm happy with the DVDs until I know if I plop down $100 I'm getting a quality product.

It is not Matrix green. Not even close. Check it out for yoself instead of reading the comments of ****-retentive obsessives. I was worried too but they look great.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

LOTR > Breaking Bad IMO

The old EE set didn't have a green tint and this one doesn't either.

Taken yesterday while watching fotr
