Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Can anyone find the clip where Dori and Ori are eating and Ori says something along the lines of "I don't eat green food."? I have been looking and I can't find it anymore, it's from a few days ago.

That's at the ending of one of the TV spots. I can't remember exactly which one, maybe #5 or #6.

Edit: It's from #7

But I'm pretty sure there is a longer one where Dori says something like "Just try a mouthful"

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

You guys are getting all worried for nothing.

As for CGI, as long as it doesn't look like what's in a movie from the SyFy network, I'll be happy. And I know it won't.

OMG, cgi was used in a movie with mountains throwing rocks at each other, can't be, ohhh nooooz!

Actually, the CGI in that sequence is amazing. The best in the film and probably better than anything in LOTR. That's definitely not the bad CGI people are talking about.

Actually, some of it kinda does. There is some good CGI in this movie, and some really, really bad CGI. To the point that after the screening some if us were seriously wondering if the FX were all finished.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

That was freakin awesome...Not worried about CGI or film transfer rate ...all I want is the story and visuals...damn the rest and critics...I cant wait!

Yeah, that was freaking cool. I've got several videos to save to my HD when I get home. I'm sure there will be some wacky CGI but everything I've seen it looks fantastic. I'm really a fan of the wargs, orcs, and goblins in this one. Also you can see in this and other stills there are normal makeup orcs/goblins as well. There is a trailer I'll post that has Azog in it real quick.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I shouldn't have watched that. I've just made the waiting time 1000x more painful.

Speaking of Azog..I wonder if they will show Thror's death, intro of Dain and Azogs demise...I'm trying so hard not to get over hyped on what PJ could have shown on screen in regards to appendices ..I hope it's all of it!

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Not all CGI shots are bad. If it's done like Rise of the Planet of the Apes, I have no problem with it.

I do know there are some changes to the Battle of Azanulbizar so expect some stuff there.

:yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess::yess:Was that Radagast taking on a Wright or Ringwraith/Witch-king in true form at Dol Guldur at the 15 second mark...oh baby!..OH BOY OH BOY OH BOY!

I think you're misinterpreting what some of us are saying. It's not bad because of the quantity of cgi. It's the quality of some of the cgi itself that is bad. Some of it just looks incredibly fake. That's what we're saying. Like the 48fps format, a few of the sketchy-to-awful fx shots pulled me right out of the movie at times.

That said, there are some awesome cgi FX as well. It's very much a mixed bag. Much moreso than the LOTR films.
