Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Looks like the beginning of another amazing adventure!! Way to go!

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Yeah that was great.:) I'ts starting to bring back that same warm feeling as when i saw the LOTR for the very first time.:yess:

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Did you folks notice who was doing the short narrative bit at the very end? I got chills.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I agree with ya I think PJ will nail the overall feeling of The Hobbit but also make it feel a bit more like LOTR than the book does.

Thank God for that, too. Always felt that The Hobbit was a mere shadow of LOTR. It's also not as mainstream-accessible. Jackson will fix that with his interpretation.

Good to see this vid, brings a warm smile to me knowing The Hobbits coming.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

I only hope they don't over-indulge us with too much information...I want to enjoy all the surprises AT THE THEATER!!

It will happen with Jackson at the helm thats for sure for folks not aware of The Hobbit. I do think the story itself is amazing in its own right.

That video was pretty damn awesome. Gave me chills all the way through and especially the very end of the video.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

The thing that could also make THE HOBBIT absolutely huge is that it's actually more kid-friendly than LOTR.

It was written more as a children's story but does take a bit more LOTR feel towards the end. The movie though I think will feel more "adult" like from the start than its book counterpart. Either way I truly think this is gonna be amazing and I'm looking forward to Dec 2012.

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Looks like Lawrence Makoare (Lurtz, Gothmog, Witchking) will be playing the Great Goblin. :clap

Edit: Never mind, apparently this is old news and not confirmed. I got prematurely excited. :lol

Since they're filming, I wonder if they're gonna bring any footage to SDCC this year?

Last year, Jon Favreau showed 8 minutes of COWBOYS & ALIENS just 2 weeks after filming started, complete with effects. So you never know...

Re: The Official "The Hobbit" movie thread

Just looking at Sting there, and it doesn't have the elvish script on it yet. Now i'm wondering whether they literally just hadn't put it on that particular sword yet as the camera was on it, or whether that is indeed the final design when Bilbo first get's it, and the inscription is put on later by Bilbo? Maybe at Rivendell?
