Has SS asked anyone else to return their SIM already? I was originally told I'd be able to hold onto it until replacements arived but this is what Inthia just emailed me

We initially thought we could proceed with the piece in your possession; however we have decided that we will need the piece to be returned to our warehouse at this time.



WTF????

my bud received his rma 12 days after submitting damage pics. they are asking him to return his base too. which contradicts what another member here said. hopefully they will have a replacement for all returning their damaged sim. but returning the base doesn't make it look very good. looks like first come basis means just that. :( hope i'm wrong.

Nope, I just got an RMA and a message to hold on to it for 60-90 days until replacements become available. Free to display, just don't damage it (any further). I received that email 1/28/08.

In fact, this is exactly what it said...

Dear Scott,

Thank you for taking the time to follow up with the requested Stealth Iron Man Comiquette photos. We are very sorry to see that your statue sustained damage while in transit.

As requested, we have opened a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) for this item. Your RMA number is xxxxx. Please keep this number as reference for your return.

Currently we are waiting to receive replacements into our warehouse as they are on back order. Typically our replacements arrive in-house after our edition pieces; as such you will experience a delay in receiving your replacement. This wait period is expected to last between 60-90 BUSINESS DAYS. Until then, please keep your piece safe and secure. You are free to display your statue; however should it incur additional damage your piece is no longer returnable to Sideshow Collectibles. Should you also decide to attempt repair or modify your statue, it will no longer be returnable to Sideshow Collectibles.

Once your replacement piece is available we will provide you with a return label and a corresponding order number. We will also ask that you repackage the piece as was sent to you taking additional care not to damage the base as we will likely issue you a replacement statue with the same corresponding base. Please keep all packaging in a safe and secure location as we are not able to replace these at this time.

We thank you for your patience, understanding as well as discretion with procedures as well as information shared with you at this time. We look forward to resolving this matter for you as quickly and efficiently as possible.

I would request that if a customer service rep asks for your discretion in sharing information please respect that.

I don't know for a fact, but they may be dealing with this in different ways, depending on the part of the country, when the complaint was received, etc.

I'm sure this whole thing has been a huge headache and that heads at the factory are rolling, but we should help them make this an efficient procedure as possible.

I agree and haven't shared any info that I thought was confidential. I'm just confused as to why I (and many others) were told we'd be able to hold onto the SIM until replacements arrived, and now I'm being told to send it back.

400 something. Kinda in the middle. I'm going to call Inthia on Monday to try to get an explanation as to what is going on. I really hate the fact that SS get's to hold onto my money for these 2-3 months and I don't even get a pretty statue to look at :monkey2

I asked one of the reps handleing my case why the WLs are being converted, while those with damaged pieces have to wait. No response, but when giving my pics, the responses were quick.

that sounds weird. wait lists are being converted?! are they repainting the flawed returns and sending them out to wait listers? i wouldn't mind that as long as it was painted well and arrived fine, but u'd think any repaints would go for replacements rather than filling wait list spots.

I don't think it's fair for those that have orders (whether they be old or new) to have to wait. It's not their fault. They should be first on the list and then the replacements. I'm assuming they are doing another production run and that's why it's going to take 60-90 days. Those whose orders were on the second boat shouldn't have to wait just because they were in the second of the split shipment.

i don't have a prob w/ orders that were made before the wait lists being filled , if indeed there are any left that need filling. but i don't think wait lists should be activated w/ returns OR replacements.

Why not? A wait-lister is just someone who stepped up, taking the place of someone that had an active order, and then cancelled it. In any case, those orders where already fact!


Let Sideshow finish the whole cycle first, before replacements begin. It's not the wait-listers fault that the first batch of SIM arrived scratched, is it? As far as I know SSC, you can count on them 100%. Everybody will eventually get their new SIM. Patients! We're not kids, are we?

Am I a SIM wait-lister? No, I'm not. I have an original order for the SIM, and I'm also still waiting for it - I haven't even received a damaged one yet! :lol I'm just patient. And as an European collector, I'm used to getting my items after the US wait-listers. It is annoying, but it happens frequently. Just a matter of logistics I think.

I get mine tomorrow so I got my airbrush out today for the touch ups.I'm going with transparent Deep Blue and transparent Brite Blue I also have a transparent Pearl Blue & ultramarine Blue waiting in the wings.I'll find the right combo eventually.tried them out today on a Gene Simmons figure with silver boots looks pretty close to SIM pics.

C'mon You've obviously got the luck of the Irish.I'm sure it will be pristine.
 
You got lucky there, since the EU warehouse is to be closed from Monday 11th till Friday 15th. For some reason I never receive tracking info, so I hope mine has left the warehouse also (together with the 1:1 PRED BIO mask), otherwise, I have to wait an extra week at the least.
But that's ok. I received my PF SSE Bride, the 12" Predator Elder and the 12" Palpatine/Sidious pack today, so, I'm good for an other week. :D


Well both of them (Cat & SIM) have been shipped, but they haven't hit the UK yet, as my PF reference isn't coming up yet, in another plus my replacement White Queen for my 2nd Dio is coming from SS as well, however I'm upgrading to the EX in preparation for my EX Sentinel 1 as well....so I'll be selling the standard one when it's complete.

BTW do you post over on the other forums as well....I probably know you from the DVDF site.
