well, I FINALLY got my shipping notice. I ordered this within seconds of it being released, but I guess they held off on Canadian shipping until things were "fixed". If it arrives damaged I will be one unhappy camper...

Get a tripod. Macro settings really only work with a tripod.

Yeah I would suggest a tripod and a remote control for your shutter. Also, if you can dial down your ISO and use natural lighting. If your camera has the ability to take pictures in RAW then do that as well. All these things will help for a cleaner clearer picture.

I sent mine back about a week ago and got confimration they received, another 60-90 day replacement notice in that email as well.
Eli, was yours wrapped in foam, or just in the styrofoam with the plastic trays?

Mine was wrapped in foam to protect it from the tray.

That's good to hear that it's at least resolved now.
Comical. A $0.30 piece of foam (or lack there of) is the culprit for thousands of dollars worth of damage.
