Ha, that's a great way to put it.

I feel like I know the characters in Predator much more than the characters in Predators.. But it could be because Predators hasn't even been out for a year yet..

I dunno. In Predator, everybody on Team Testosterone just behaved like you'd picture them in real life. Their "acting" wasn't really a far stretch. AND IT WORKED! Which was good given the overall lack of Oscar potential in that film.

Meanwhile Predators had better actors, but I think they failed in having them trying to be people outside of their realm. There were exceptions like Danny Trejo and Louis Ozawa Changchien, but Topher being a serial killer seemed well beyond his grasp, Brody trying his best to be Bale's John Connor and Laurence's scatterbrained hermit all seemed so completely out of character for the actors it was almost distracting watching them struggle to stay in character. The good news is the film keeps moving in a way that you can enjoy it without getting too annoyed.

Well, the main problem with the Predators characters was the fact they did chop some stuff. Not a lot, but more then enough. There was some good Edwin stuff in there too. Made his character a tad more realistic. I still loved him in the role. Dude looks like a creepy serial killer anyway.

Also, they never once said their names, outside of Royce, Izzy, and Nikoli. Which was a huge mistake. I dont know why they did that.

But still. They did a decent enough job with the characters. Atleast the two mains.

At this point i'd rather have decent, then total ____.

Yeah, we've talked about this before. I'm disappointed they cut so much stuff. Overall I think we would've cared for the characters a hell of a lot more than we do by film's end.

I'm still baffled by why Royce wants so hard to commandeer a ship he cant pilot and fly home from a planet whose whereabouts he doesn't even know.

Hey, I probably would too.

Honestly, it's the only somewhat logical thing. Plus, what's he got to lose?

But what if the Predator sent him to the sun? What douche move that would've been.

But yes, they should've left more in. I didnt mind the wait. I've watched the movie a ____ ton of times, and I havent become bored with it. It's refreshing a movie lets the monsters wait.

Hopefully we'll get better characters for part 2.

I thought Predators could have been so much better, was really disappointed. there should have been an army of predators and not the super preds they used, stick to the tried and true preds.

And the first two had a plot that wasn't all preds. Example Predator had the story of marines going on a rescuse mission, thenthe pred shows up. Pred2 had the drug war then the pred gets involved. There should have been a side plot like the other 2.

Just my 2 cents.

well it depends on how many predators he meant with that
i remember the trailer showing us alot more lasers than we actually saw in the movie, it would've been cool to see more of those "super" preds once they arrived in that camp where the classic was hanging

The only way that'd work is if the situation from the very first predator is completely reversed with a single man on the predator planet hunting them. Adrian Brody IS NOT that man. But then you lose all the dramatic tension from the end because you won't get the one-on-one battle given no matter how many the hero kills, there's a whole planet of them, and the outcome becomes predictable.

Anyone could kill a Predator. All you have to do is outsmart them, and get them all cocky. They're really dumb creatures.

Hunting is their main instinct. It's safe to say that from watching the films, none of them really care about dying.

P1 and P2 yes.

Scar, Celtic and Chopper knew that if they did not pass their test they would end up dead.

Wolf already read the script and knew the only thing that could kill him would be a nuclear bomb. Unluckily for him the government had one at hand.

Tracker didn't get a chance to think about death. Falconer was prepared to die whilst fighting Hanzo. Finally I think Berserker was too cocky to believe he could die. His downfall being not killing Isabelle.

That makes no sense. Your post is talking about how you wish Predators had been like the original Predator but in the first film, we don't see the predator fully until halfway through the 3rd (final) act.

yeah sorry, I tried to be as clear as I possibly could with my opinion but i guess it was not clear enough, the first predator, (and predator 2) the preds don't show up right away, yeah that's true, but, there was a lot going on, Dutch arrives with his team to rescue the three presidential cabinet ministers, it started as a different kind of movie, it slowly showed you what really was going on, and by the end when the Pred is shown, your mind is blown away, the grasp your attention so well that by the time they show him you are so wrapped in the movie it really is an amazing thing to see the creature.
Pred 2, the secret is out, you know what he is, you saw him, but, they still managed to capture your attention beautifully, it's in the city (which many people hated, but I loved that he was there) and there is the rival gangs fighting the cops, is chaos.

In predators, well, right from the beginning, it starts as a sci fi movie, in an alien planet, weird things going on, no one knows what the hell is going on, basic stuff, but, there was nothing else, everyone meets, they walk around, some get killed, they argue, I guess what I mean is the great thing about Pred 1 and 2 is that there was more than one story line, actually, the Preds being there is not the main part of the story at the beginning, it slowly falls on you,
I guess I don't like Predators as much because it just felt boring at first, it didn't grab my attention as well as the other 2 did

again, I like the movie, I don't hate it, but, the director should have been Robert Rodriguez, I think they made a mistake getting that other guy

I guess what I meant is, i wish they either made it a little more interesting or with the way it is now, I wish they at least showed the preds more, kinda wish the preds had more presence since, this is their planet, they kidnapped them, etc... kinda wish they handle the preds better

I agree about that, an army would be no good, you would have a bunch of predators that appear on screen for a few seconds while nothing, (I mean, with only 3 preds and like i said before, chopper, tracker, not really needed ) and with an army it would lose all suspense, Unless they were fighting each other, or something, like pred against pred, but, that could turn really fkin lame as wel

maybe if one pred was killing other preds, like the story that new mask is based on, I think I would like to see that, a renegade pred killing the others, but, that I don't think that would ever reach the screen,
