I need to rewatch Eraser. I vividly remember it being the 1st Arnold movie I watched in the theater and knowing his career was over.

For me it was when he made his "comeback" with End of Days. I knew it was over.

I still enjoyed Collateral Damaged and The Sixth Day, but I knew it was over. Prime Arnold was gone

While I respect the source material the movie being the best barbarian movie ever made makes me easily forgive it for not being the real CTB.

Yep, it definitely reimagines the character but in doing so Millius crafted the greatest sword and sorcery film ever made.

Oh, don't get me wrong lads, the movie has flaws of its own, only it has even more when judged as a Conan adaptation.

I can go with the flow of Conan being a slave for 20 years, and even him being a dumb mute, I can go down with a re-imagining of characters and all that, but the script wasn't the best and the performances were all around bad, including and especially Arnold since he's the protagonist, he was just as bad as that Valeria chick, with the obvious exceptions of Darth Vader and Conan's father, whom were pretty good.

I get giving the movie a pass for starring Arnold, but it doesn't even have Arnold's trademark charisma.

If it's the greatest sword and sorcery film ever made, then I'm truly shocked no one has surpassed such passable bar, maybe because it's an unpopular genre with the mainstream and only a few people have tried.

Btw I'm not saying it's bad by any stretch, it's great fun and very re-watchable.

I've never seen Momoa's film, but it has to be better, so watch CTD first. There's also Red Sonja with Arnold playing a Conan rip off, but it's just classic Arnold...with a sword. It's pure ****.

True, but his physique and youth was a major part of his appeal and action hero persona.

Taking that away from him is like taking away Superman's powers. What's left? Clark Kent.
