The last shot of the movie will be the son hugging his dad with his eyes closed and then THEY OPEN. Dun dun dunnnn. *Freeze frame on kids face with the sound of the Predator clicking noise*

Well, the money shot of the movie/closing moment to the trailer would be the kid walking through the woods and you see a Predator's triangle laser on his forehead - then the camera turns to the Predator targetting the kid and THE PREDATOR has a triangle laser on HIS forehead.

Tremblay will play the autistic son of Holbrook’s character, an ex-marine who discovers the existence of aliens despite no one believing him. Tremblay’s character is also described as the victim of bullies who becomes a “key player in the fight due to his preternatural ability to learn languages.”

Sounds like a Last-Action-Hero kind of plot.
LAH is great because it was its own thing and a solid satire of the genre.
I guess Black can only write two types of scripts...

I can already tell there's going to be a scene where the kid wears a bio mask. He'll probably use the tech to get back at the bullies. At least we'll finally get a touching scene between a father and his autistic son that the last Predator movies have definitely been missing to really push the films to greatness.

Can't get Hot Toys to make Terence Stamp Zod, BR Catwoman, Dutch v2, or Kyle Reese figures but we'll end up getting one of this kid in street clothes wearing a bio mask.

There is more bad assness on display in the opening 5 minutes than most action movies pump out in their entire run time.

Just like with the Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens, Robocop 1 and Die Hard 1, Predator 1 fires on all cylinders from beginning to end.

This movie will be an electric prius at best.

I rewatched Predator lastnight, that movie just oozes quality B filmmaking.

There is more bad assness on display in the opening 5 minutes than most action movies pump out in their entire run time.

Just like with the Terminator, Terminator 2, Aliens, Robocop 1 and Die Hard 1, Predator 1 fires on all cylinders from beginning to end.

T2 & Die Hard transcend the rest. They're perfect movies that go beyond the action genre.

The Terminator, Aliens, Predator & Robocop whilst also perfect still remain very much part of their genre.

McTiernan has a great bit in the commentary about McClane's line "these guys have enough C4 to level Arnold Schwarzenegger." Basically he put that in there to imply Predator is a movie that McClane probably watched because McClane lives in the real world. Tarantino feels the same way about his movies where some are real world movies (Reservoir Dogs, True Romance, Pulp Fiction) and others are movies his real world characters would watch (Kill Bill, From Dusk Til Dawn).

This movie will be an electric prius at best.

If anyone can knock a Predator movie outta the park - its Black.

I get where you're coming and I can respect someone thinking that for those reasons but i'm not one of them.

All those movies transcended culture in their own way.

It is gimmicky but one worth experiencing, especially at $10.

It breathes some life into the jungle.

Shane Black sucks, what makes him so special.

He wrote Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout. He created Riggs and Murtaugh, rewrote Predator 1 and played Hawkins in it, he wrote and directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. In my book, all of these make him special.

If T2 transcended its genre I feel Aliens would too. There's oomph there, particularly with the special edition.
