He wrote Lethal Weapon and The Last Boy Scout. He created Riggs and Murtaugh, rewrote Predator 1 and played Hawkins in it, he wrote and directed Kiss Kiss Bang Bang. In my book, all of these make him special.

I can already tell there's going to be a scene where the kid wears a bio mask. He'll probably use the tech to get back at the bullies. At least we'll finally get a touching scene between a father and his autistic son that the last Predator movies have definitely been missing to really push the films to greatness.

Well, the money shot of the movie/closing moment to the trailer would be the kid walking through the woods and you see a Predator's triangle laser on his forehead - then the camera turns to the Predator targetting the kid and THE PREDATOR has a triangle laser on HIS forehead.

i would pay just to see that, im not even joking. that would actually be awesome

If T2 transcended its genre I feel Aliens would too. There's oomph there, particularly with the special edition.

aliens and T2 had both the kid angle and they are some of the greatest movies ever made

While I'm a T2er all the way, there wasn't a kid formula, it was just a kid that they managed not to **** too much, barely, even then you have many complaints about JC, and none of its greatness hinges on the fact that it has a kid in it.

Many sequels of cool movies are utter **** because they have kids in it, AVPR has a kid in it IIRC, haven't seen it since ir came out Iron Man 3 has a stupid kid in it too, a kid in a predator movie, as part of the plot, is so counter intuitive.

I have an open mind and will reserve judgment, but I don't like how the limited info we've been getting sounds.

The worst part of AVPR was the High School teenage drama bulls--- that they added in. The Kid and the Army mom were actually interesting. she was the most interesting character.

I just dont think the kid will ruin this. The idea sounds cool and sounds interesting. I would love to see how they figure out the predator language. that will definitely expand the series. as horrible as AVPR was they at least developed the Predator race by having an elder predator mourn the dead of another predator.
as much as some people hate the predator world I Personally DO appreciate that they did show their world. I loved seeing how it looked and I loved how Scar Predator had a task to clean up the mess.
I know AVPR is crap but those little predator moments were very cool for me.

by understanding what the preds are saying that could be really cool to see. that could be amazing if they lead into a sequel with fully understanding them.


Besides if ANYONE is going to ruin this movie, that's going to be Olivia Munn

shes the only one in the cast that might ruin this entire thing

Nope, the feminine was still strong in it, men were only secondary and supportive, it's similar to Predator in that they were a group of soldiers, but it ends there, Ripley was the steering wheel for this group during the entire movie, and at the end it was a mom, rescuing her daughter from the female villain.

The mother aspect actually comes up early in the movie, or early-middle.

That's the key isn't it? And it's a Hugh Mungus IF, and one that I doubt can be achieved in this day age of movie making, that's the main reason I'm against it, and backed up by what we've already seen in the likes of the AvP movies.

Glimpses like in P2 are fine, AvP attempt was pretty damn pedestrian, it was actually handled better in the 1999 game.

Check above, glimpse, that **** only fans you imagination even more, completely "exploring" world/language/race of the Predators is inherently dumb and denotes lower intelligence and creativity from the film maker.

IF they were to explore the language, I would be fine if they translated one or 2 "words" from their language that were useful at key moments in the movie, otherwise no thanks.
