AvP is the only movie to feature that crap. And people hated it! I was very confused by it back then, after my first watch. Which led to me searchin' for avp forums and yautja related reads. I went super casual that year...

It's a pretty juvenile concept to come up with from watching Predator, or even Predator 2 which could be interpreted that way with the pirate pistol and all.

I like my Predator being an ******* and making Dutch dance.

And it was the irony of his character because he was never a proper Klingon.

Well, why would anybody think Predators would be into some gei **** like artificial enhancements?

They would go for savage selective breeding insteead.

IF they cared about that stuff at all, they don't strike as the kind that would seek racial supremacy.

If you ask me, it's another juvenile extrapolation that comes from bad comics.

Are the people here completely oblivious as to the fact we got a movie 8 years ago called Predators that featured a trio of Predator bad bloods that had been exiled for genetically enhancing themselves, seeking power and not caring about honor that also went on to a graphic novel that also featured more genetically altered predators to a more extreme extent? And that this was all canon And that this movie idea was taken from comics that had existed for years prior to that movie?

These Predators enhancing themselves are not the Prior Predator clans changing their behavior, there is and has always been rogue predator groups that seek power over honor. Its mind blowing to see people act like they are outraged about the direction of the creature and that this is a totally new concept thats crapping all over the past while seemingly not even knowing anything outside of a casual Predator fan. The Predators in the past WERE hunting for sport, these Predators we are going to see are not of the same ideology. But thats a concept that has been in this universe for nearly a decade by this point.

So whats the shock? Did people just not follow what was going on in the franchise? And people are voicing their displeasure as edgelords but outing themselves as causal fans?

Those enhanced Predators were portrayed as renegades. Their enhancements were not established as being derived from human DNA. It wasn't explained at all. You as a Predator expert should've already known this.

Oh and the original AVP mini series is a classic. A casual fan wouldn't read the literature at all because they're just "casual":

That thing looks like it had the potential to be cool but the execution of the suit - especially the head and legs - is just awful. Should have put a really skinny guy inside it instead of JCVD and made it look more proportional.

Still, you can tell that bug thing had the glowing eyes, which never made sense for the Winston Predator. They probably left the glowing eyes gimmick in the movie even though it belonged to the original bug alien creature. Maybe too late to make changes?
