He wasn't too old, and he was muscular as far back as Lethal Weapon 1 from what I recall but they downplayed it since he was supposed to be 50.

And yet people believed a skinny twerp like Brody beating up the predator was more believable. The whole time I watched Predators , I was thinking c’mon now , at least Harrigan has a shotgun

The way i understood it is that glover's craziness and reckless behavior is what made him a worthy opponent to the pred.

It wasnt about being as strong as arnold or being a soldier, but about him being a wild case

After LW 4 I was done with the sequels even though I saw all of them.

Pred 2 was dping fine until the gov people mess with him.
Glover only had a chance until gary busey attacked the pred.

If glover went by himself he would have died.

He wasnt incompetent, its just that he got caught off guard.

And he played with glover too much.

Busey and his team got shredded and Harrigan announced his presence.

He basically allowed himself stabbed in the chest at the end.

I remember reading the original reviews back then criticized the surroundings. L.A. wasn’t the best backdrop and the movie critics butchered the side story of the Jamaican street gangs being a focal point.

I remember siskel and Ebert ( more of Siskel) tearing down the idea of Jamaicans taking over L.A. in the future was absolutely absurb and sloppy writing.

In short, it wasn’t the characters that were teared down but the surroundings and backdrop

I never watched Siskel and Ebert as a kid, but whenever I watch a movie review or analysis and they play clips of theirs... it's readily apparent they had awful taste in film and treat any sci fi or horror film like garbage.

I”ll admit this pred was weaker than Jungle Pred because Jungle pred lasted many years in that jungle. I don’t think he was stupid though.
