Re: Predator Reboot...

Yeah, big budget doesn't necessarily make a great movie. 'Still in talks' with Arnie could eat up a large amount of that budget.

Fingers crossed though.

Re: Predator Reboot...

I quite liked IM3, regardless of how you feel about it, I'm sure his point was simply that it will be a big movie, I'm sure it will have a totally different tone to IM3. I'm not thrilled with the 50p casting rumor, but I am also very interested in who is doing the practical effects and suit work on this.

Re: Predator Reboot...

Iron Man 3 was just an example in terms of how big it was. He doesn't mean he wants CGI Preds in Iron Man suits fighting fire people! :lol

Re: Predator Reboot...

I hope Shane Black is comparing the Predator reboot to be the same "size" as Iron Man 3 in terms of budget.
Put that money towards a solid plot and some good actors.

I hope they keep the human involvement to a minimum. Get Dutch back in there, but just as a spark to build upon a good story. I don't want to see a film with a bunch of one-liners and comedic moments. It didn't do Terminator Genisys any good.

Re: Predator Reboot...

Why do they want to make all of these B-movies, that succeeded as B movies, blockbusters? It's stupid.

Keep it small, less money, more creativity.

Re: Predator Reboot...

Oh yeah, even AVP and AVPR don't have big budgets.... Hmmmm

So less money, less creativity? More money, more creativity? I guess I'm worried it'll become a generic blockbuster, but since that already happened with small budgets then I have no idea what to expect, I'm not sure how Predator would work in an Iron Man 3-sized movie.

At least it's just size and not quality they're talking about.

Re: Predator Reboot...

AVP-R did not have good budget allocation.

they paid more for cheap azz unrelatable characters. spend less on lighting. sheeeesh.

predators....was just crap from down up. never thought they could stack shat that high.

Re: Predator Reboot...

Yea, I don't think this could be worse than predators or avpr. Seeing a bit of the Pred homeworld that we already had a glance of would be cool, and would take a lot of cgi. I don't think a cgi Pred would work at all, so hopefully they will still put guys in suits. i think there's still a lot of potential for this movie. I'd be interested in seeing some more primal, less armored up looking Preds.

Re: Predator Reboot...

I only like the last 35 minutes of predators. everything before it is boring and lame.
but the ending is awesome

Re: Predator Reboot...

There's no way this movie will get a IM3 sized budget, he'll be lucky to get that from Fox, a $80-100 million budget at best maybe. And there's no way even with a bigger budget it will make blockbuster movie sized money. I just don't see the Predator franchise as something everyone will rush to see. Plus it will R rated too (hopefully...).

Re: Predator Reboot...

Predators was alright, I like it fine.

Me too, I was looking forward to the sequel but I guess that won't happen now.

As for this one, budget is not relevant to creativity or anything like that. It should however mean much better suits, practical effects and cast members if used wisely among other things.
