The lack of A-list actors must be concerning for Fox. They went after Del Toro because they knew he'd be right in the spotlight once Episode VIII is released.

Saying that I'd rather they have a solid story and characters first. Hopefully this isn't the reason the big guys said no although jumping into this franchise is risky too.

Putting A-list actors in AVP and AVPR wouldn't have made them better movies. A better story and characters with the right actors would have.

Which is why this new movie needs to be as far away from the jungle and those types of characters as possible. If the story is unique and clever with good characters and they get the Predator right the rest should fall into place.

Before this year I would have probably agreed but I think Suicide Squad and the new Magnificent Seven did a great job with their group dynamics.

That was one of the biggest letdowns in X-Men: Origins.

They assembled a solid group of modern era tough guys - Jackman, Schreiber, Durand & Reynolds along with a strong actor for a CO (Huston) and Monaghan as the Hawkins of the squad.(Will I. Am just sucked).

Sadly the team never had something interesting to do in its screentime and the overall movie was crap.

McTiernan directing those guys (sans I. Am) would have made for an epic movie.

Actually, FIRE & STONE (2015) is the first canon comic for the series. It takes place in 2219 (40 years after ALIENS '86) and features the Engineers, the Yautja, the Marines & the Xenomorphs.

A sequel called LIFE AND DEATH is ongoing at the moment and is also canon.

Real Navy SEALs, Green Berets, CCTs, Marine Force Recon...they don't look like Schwarzenegger. They look like Brody did in that movie.

Its one thing to have a preference of an action icon over a superb actor, but to say the most dangerous people on this earth look like Schwarzenegger or Stallone is a completely inaccurate viewpoint.




That scrawny dude can act & actually looks like like a real soldier, not a bodybuilder.

So had Brody grown a beard you would have believed him a SEAL.

Here's SEAL Team 7. No Schwarzeneggers here, just real dangerous men [with beards].

I made this exact argument a month ago. exactly the same. I agree, if it is a soldier it wont really look like Arnold now. I dont think people now would buy it.

But I still wish it was someone more known. i cant help it. i wish it was Bond or the Taken Guy or Captain America....
