First congrats on taking the first step to a healthy life style. Now best advice I can give you, eat fresh. This means eat fresh fruits and veggies and when it comes to meat, try to buy lean meats and fish from the counter.

Chicken, Turkey and Fish are your friends. Learn spices and sample them to find those that you like.

Stay away from whites. This means bleached flour, white rice, salt, milk, sugar, starch.

Oils - use virgin olive oil instead of vegetable oil while cooking and if possible find a spritzer (Costco has then for $18 - 2 pack) so that you can spray your oil evenly when cooking.

The golden rule is to burn more calories than you take in.

Also, allow yourself to enjoy junk once in a while this way you don't feel like what you are doing isn't working when a plateau hits. Plateaus happen to everyone and its better to not get depressed and to just continue doing what you can to live a healthier life style.

Oh and stay away from the double down thread as that is pure evil and set up to kill your arteries.
 
No - you just added cholesterol to your arteries.... :slap

The grease from that can easily cause a blockage....

I know and for breakfast I had two chicken and biscuits.... I'm going to go 2days of nothing but water then get back into eating right and exercising.
 
Thanks for the advice! I really appreciate it! All i've had today is some water, and some edamame, but i'm feeling just fine. If I get hungry, i'm just drinking more water. Turns out i'm not really hungry, but thirsty. I've learned that the last few weeks. A lot of times, i'm really thirsty, but just thinking I was hungry. Sad! :p

Think i'll have some fish and some more veggies tonight. Want to try and stray from fruits that are super sweet right now too. I think too much sweetness this early will be bad for me. Makes me crave other sweets. I'll treat myself every once and a while, but yeah, gotta be careful.

I caved a month or two ago, and tried a double down. And while it was amazingly delicious.. I wont be doing it again. Felt like crap afterwards. I think i just had to do it for the novelty. Got it out of my system though.

It depresses me knowing how often I actually ate during the day, and how much I ate. I am sitting here on a day off, and I can't tell you how many times i've had to tell myself not to eat out of boredom!

BLEH....No breaded/fried chicken...only grilled or baked...and absolutely NO soda.
Make sure the fruit juices don't have alot of sugar in them....Sugar= Fat Ass.

White Rice has alot of carbs and thats not good unless you intend to burn it with cardio. Best is brown rice in moderation. Brown Rice taste l like crap tho...so fawk that. If u HAVE to eat rice....eat only one cup.

Thats my advice.

Brown rice is not terrible. I add some sofrito and seasonings and its good. But like you said I barely eat it once a week if that and only one cup serving.


damn! i haven't seen that movie yet but he got crack head skinny in that! i mean he wasn't fat but he was pretty heavy in the batman movies. that is some kind of transformation!

My arms are gonna be sore tomorrow! Any tips on how to prevent...or relieve?

Yea I hurt my leg and shoulder two weeks or so ago and have not been in the gym for a week and a half. FInally went back. Did back and Bi's. Starting to feel it in the arms now. I am glad to feel it again.

I can't slack. I really need to do this but time is not on my side.

I have been eating better. Oats, fruit, light meals, nothing heavy at night. Never any soda or juices. Almost all water.

It seems like I am hlaf way there, but I need to get further along or it could get bad. :(

I don't eat much rice...I've been eating alot of chicken a salad!

I am so glad. I have missed you.

I don't eat much rice at all either and you know for us that's hard ! But gotta do it. I need to really do better shopping.
