Frankly, I've thought for a while now that people were getting a little drunk on the idea that they could have figures made-to-order by top Korean figure artists. Just start a wish-fer conversation and if you don't quite like it, walk away. Judging from the apparent dropout rate here, I wouldn't expect "interest" threads to result in another figure getting made by Iminime any time soon. Denny is out on a limb here, y'know, if the "interest" suddenly evaporates.

I'm in complete agreement with Ray. I can see how this will all come together. I believe Denny has indicated a fat suit will be added. If not, or if I think it can be improved upon, I have a fat suit in mind, and it's easy to add or subtract Dacron fill to a fat suit to get the right body shape.

I didnt want to post this as people would probably complain of 'biasness' but this EXACTLY sums up what I want to say...

With some better futzing I have no doubt that this right here is an awesome figure.

Maybe start by losing those lame Headplay hands

I think the body and clothing set looks good. Just make a new sculpt of a younger tony and it should look right.

Its not like you have to start over from scratch the clothing set is done. Just do a better HS and you got my money

it's obvious that you weren't a fan of it when we stated our wishes of a tony soprano figure in the beginnings, and you weren't happy when denny decided to do this even you've tried your best to suggest him not to do this and better doing some figures that you like instead of tony. we got it now, you don't like the character, you don't like the figure, you don't like dennys decissions. but please do us a favour and stop b1tching around here, it really is annoying and getting on my nerves.

the fact why this isn't succesful, is not because there weren't enough interests, it's just because of the end-result of the figure. i understand people that don't want to pay $300+ for a figure, that you have to mod and build it up on your own to look alright. if the figure would look that way, like in our expectations and former iminimes quality figures, i am sure, that there wouldn't be that many people who would lost their interest in getting it.

the most dissapointing figure from iminime is for me still michae corleone. it was like a dream come true, when denny announced it. but after i got it in hand, yeah, it looked like a girl like raymond said ^^
and even ray improved the sculpt through his mods and paintups tremendously, it still didn't fullfilled my expectations. why? the sculpt was so damn small! raymond was willing to help me out and paint my sculpt too and bring it to life, like he did with his one, and i'm totally thankful for his will to help me out, but when i looked at the figure itself and looked at other figures on my cabinet, it just didn't look right, because the head was just so small. that is why i had to sell the figure, even it was on top of my wishlist.

tony somehow lacks also quality. not like others, i kind of like the sculpt, and because it's the only one tony that i can get for a loooong long long time, i just need to get it and try my best with modding etc. but it's still sad paying so much money for having so much work to get it looking right.

the reason, why this isn't looking THAT good and reaching our expectations, is rainman for me. i can't say it enough times, he is a massive talented person, i never ever could do what he can do, he's doing magic. BUT he is good in his own, and not in the collaboration with iminime. from the beginning, i was wishing, that a sculptor from iminime would have taken tony and would bring us a quality sculpt just like the freeman sculpt, or the bale now. it's unbelievable what talented sculptors iminime have.

i know that the production of tony is gone to the next step, but after looking and hearing and reading, that there aren't many people who are getting this, maybe denny should overthink this and just do another sculpt, just like in the case of bateman (bale).
and this time, he should let sculpt the headsculpt from the sculptor of the freeman sculpt and bale etc. i'm sure, when she nails the likeness, people are sprining and wanting to be back to the board again.
with an alternate sculpt, we could have the ability of creating our own bathrobe version, just needing the bathrobe for it

i reall would like to know if denny would be willing to give us another sculpt and to try to secure this project and don't letting it to sink.

Chill out man! A little pretentious rather a LOT of assumptions in most part of that what your wrote, but hey you guys are the 'hardcore' fans... Im not. When hardcore fans cant stand by a release dont take your frustrations out on me...

The comments I made were generic and reflect the majorities reactions... so ofcourse, commercially it seems like a disaster till now (For Denny's sake and the sake of other people having their wishlists made real I hope that changes)
Frankly IMO I dont think the figure is all that bad as some see it. But hey, how would I know, you are the huge fans who will ultimately decide the fate of this. My only wish is to see it sell well so that Denny can have more faith when choosing characters seeing his wishlist thread.

with all respect to uscmhicks, as he brought those things up, that the sculpt needs to be improved, i do think the likeness is worse then before. i think in the orignal sculpt the likeness is there, just need to thicken him up, change a bit his eyes (especially at the end they need to be more down and not that high) and tweaking the chin, making it bigger, longer and fat and like uscmhicks making the neck much more thicker then before. i've tried to mix these things together, what uscmhicks showed us combined with the likeness of rainman and some of my suggestions:

again it's just my thought and oppinions, maybe i'm looking wrong to it and like teddy said, i'm also very happy with how the rainman sculpt looks, but i hope he still can tweak something here and there to get it even better

And incase this thread is going to go completely upside down, please someone answer these questions first. Whoever has the answers please chime in.

1. In these final pics of the full fig, is he wearing the fatsuit that you see hanging there ^^^^^^. He looks much thinner in these pics than what I thought that suit would accomplish.

2. On the Iminime site the robe wasn't listed in the breakdown but I remember it mentioned that it would be included. Is that still happening? The slippers are listed sp IDK.

3. What was the final edition size on this?

I cant blame people for wanting more, I mean if my Bateman was ruined I too would be up in arms... but at the same time I would like to reiterate what Gruff Old Bear and Raymond said.
Its not like Tony is a license thatll be picked up by HT or be done by a Rainman like artist for his release, so for a figure to have a quality representation this is by far the best bet. And its not like an EPIC FAIL or something. Yes there are downsides but a lot of them can be futzed, tinkered etc etc.
However if the hardcore fans are not willing to do so... that itself spells doom for it

Take my Leo Messi figure from them for Example. Was it perfect? No way... glaring inacurracies like the hair sculpt. the clothing too isnt perfect so much wrong. But I got it. why? Becase Messi at that quality would be impossible ever. I resculpted the hair. Added cotton all over the body to fil the jersey etc etc, tightended joints.And now its as perfect as it can be...

If people are not willing to put that little effort to make what they love reach that next level by a little accomodation and work from their end, then theres really no point pushing for him on a wishlist.

Axe I know what you and everyone else who is willing to put time in money into one of their figs are saying. I do the same. I buy their figures knowing that to bring them up to a personal acceptable speed, it takes more time and money. Everyone's level of tweaking will vary. Some people are 90% happy with it out of the box while others will Frankenstein the body, ect.

I have accepted that I have to switch the body and shoes on every figure that I get from them. I also have to source out appropriate hands and extra accessories, or upgrade already included accessories. Those are just things that my personal standards require to make these quality sets for me. Some people may do more, some may do less.

But the one thing that I want to be able to count on straight out of the box is a good quality, correct scale sculpt that needs NO tweaking and good clothes to match. Otherwise where do the mods end? As far as I'm concerned I'm doing a lot as is to improve these sets.

See PopCultKid I totally get what you're saying. But here, the people knew this sculpt would be around. That this was the final sculpt, when Denny debuted it and showed it in that video after the initial discontent. After that he even asked people to tell him who was in for him to continue with it to make a full set figure, people mailed him and confirmed. So at this stage after all was said and done... complaining about the sculpt seems. wierd.

I can understand if people didnt like the sculpt and drew the line there and told Denny that if this sculpt is coming sorry no way! Then it would have saved everyone the trouble. However everyone chimed in and gave the go ahead and now are flaking. Honestly thats what I felt was unfair.

Im only disappointed by the fact that even when people were aware of what the sculpt would be, why complain about it after you gave it the green light in the first place. I felt that was unfair for Denny and his team.
