...Oh and another one where we've had a sneak peek and didn't then get to order was the Legolas PF - good job I didn't wait up for that one too... :)

Ah, but that's just it... it was a "sneak peek" during Toy Fair; the "official" preview just went up with last week's newsletter, and it will go on sale... wait for it... one week later on this Friday. Sorry, didn't mean to get sarcastic...

Firstly, I was not assuming you were in the "same boat" as me. My response was to your comment that "staying up till 1;30am not an option esp when there is no warning or guarantee there will be anything of interest up for PO", that you made for the second time. I was not trying to upset you or say that you didn't have a valid point... only that we knew it was coming, and if one has been buying from Sideshow for a while, one knows to expect anything... exclusives, low edition sizes, in-stock products, etc. Virtually all of the LOTR products have been announced and previewed, and then pre-ordered the following week, except for the faux bronze Fellbeast/Eagle diorama to the best of my knowledge.

Try being a Universal/Classic Monster collector! There have been 4 SSE 1:1 busts (average edition size 62), 10 SSE premium formats and 1 base (average edition size 187), and 2 SSE dioramas (average edition size 50);most of them have gone up with virtually no warning as to what they were (other than horror related) and 80% or more were in-stock at that! One was even a lottery where you weren't guaranteed of getting it unless your name was picked! Try those odds... low edition size, in-stock and no warning!!!

In conclusion, all I can say is if you have been purchasing from Sideshow for a while and have been paying attention, then you should expect the unexpected and be prepared for it! Of all the monster items that I mentioned above, I haven't missed ordering a single one!

Icummins a few days have passed and I have calmed down about the whole thing so I do apologise if I was offensive to you or anyone else on here. Like crazytrain I too have to get up at 6am so "preparing for it" as you say is just not an option, I have in the past stayed up just in case for the unexpected and nothing would happen so I gave up on that. I just think on Exs they should give an advance warning there was none with this bust thats all at the end of the day. I think events like Spooktacular are different as a lot goes up at all hours and thats a once in a while event which is kinda fun to stay up and check it out etc. I don't know maybe the newsletter time is the average time that US people finish work so they chose that. I know they can't accommodate all time zones but why do it with the Ex Lego coming this friday and not do it with an Ex bust esp one with an apparently very low ES?

There has to be a better system though, I'm not saying a system that will please everyone but maybe one that would accommodate the two or three biggest markets and SS knows who they are.

PS I would be swinging from a rope now (and not in a good way!) if I was an Unviversal/Classic Monster Collector so no thats not going to happen I don't care how good they look!! :lol

Congrats on 10K in posts by the way!!

No problem... I completely understand. When I missed the Grey Hulk VS Spider-man diorama three years ago, because the newsletter came out on a Thursday night instead of on Friday, like it had been doing for a couple of years up until a week or so before that, I was upset. But it was because the newsletter changed times with no notice from Sideshow, not the fact it was an unannounced Exclusive version. Anyway, we all miss something occasionally and we can only hope our fellow Freaks will help us out. :peace

As for the time issue, my only suggestion, as some have already stated... why not go to bed a little earlier that evening and set an alarm to get up and check the newsletter and then go back to sleep? Not really convenient, but at least until Sideshow makes a change, you won't risk missing anything again...

God if only it was that easy, I would need a sledgehammer to get me back asleep on a normal night can't imagine what it would take on a night where I have snared myself an Ex or something really exciting having gone through the anticipation and excitement of refreshing my browser in a panic etc trying to get through ! I'll give it a go though! :rotfl

I do sympathize with those in the EU. It's not quite as easy as setting your alarm when I have seen the newsletter go up as early as 5:30 or as late as 8:00. Your best bet is somewhere between 6 and 7, but you never know. You certainly can't make an appointment and getting in on something rare means sitting around and hitting the refresh button--something that some people (myself included) don't have the luxury of doing.

I gotta agree with C1eaN. If I were getting one, I would prefer the regular version. But it matters not since I didn't order it.
