Cap, I think that it seems easy to do, as you said, maybe not like you said. But they are selling more than just the LOTR line. They need to pay the same amount of attention to the other lines as well, especially with LOTR ending. They are trying to retain their established customer base for other collectibles. At this time, all I collect from Sideshow/WETA is the LOTR line, so all I know in their dealings is this line. I feel that the way things are going, they are trying to make the correct steps in the right direction. Changing the Wait List is one of them.
One change that I saw, was that as the line was getting longer & longer, as far as more pieces were being put out, the consumers became aware of these items. The company saw this & their LE's went from a couple to 5,000, to anywhere aroung 8500 to 9500 pieces on some of them. I wonder how mant daddy 'rogs they would put out if it was a new piece at the moment?
I just feel that they have alot of product. The way they kept track of it at the beginning of the LOTR line maybe was not as good as how they keep it now. With all of the other lines that they have added in the years, I bet a lot of boxes did get covered up. It will take some time to sort it all, and then some more time to contact the Wait List people, especially those on the Old Wait List. Going through all the e-mails & contacting those people & waiting for a response, or running a Card & getting invalid. All I see is time.
