TWD needs to do something fresh. Walkers are an afterthought these days and the villains are the latest batch of nuts and crazy societies that the group comes across -- the governor, Terminus, Alexandria, (what the heck happened to the Wolves?), the Hilltop, the Kingdom, and Saviors. While to degree it makes sense that the world would be falling into tribal chaos and survival of the fittest scenarios, the encounters tend to bog down the storyline and make plotlines somewhat repetitive. The terror and threat of the living dead has given way to which new group will Rick and Co have to face down. The group has become stuck in Alexandria far longer than at Hershal's Farm. And if/when they do overcome the Saviors, what next? Go back to relatively peaceful and clean living in Alexandria? Pull together with the Hilltop and the Kingdom and start building a new society, until the next homicidal group comes along. They are getting somewhat painted into a corner. Maybe the group needs to get on the move again for whatever reason. There series has become more of a chore to keep up with. It may simply be that TWD is pretty much played out. The ratings have been declining, people are looking for something new, so I would not be surprised to hear an announcement of a final season. All things have to come to an end, that's why I was happy to hear GoT make the call.

I would personally love to watch the show where everyone lived peacefully together and groving veggies. ;) LOL. I always feel sad when there is a nice peaceful moment and it ends. But it doesn´t work in series that way, sadly. I think though, Rick´s people have been on the run most of the time, it is nice that they had even some time just to catch breath in the while of surviving so hard.

I enjoyed this new episode. Here it was shown just some hours ago, in Monday night. I got spoiled with purpose to prepare for what is coming, and enjoyed that there was nothing too scary or sad - I didn´t really miss for the killed ones, and was mostly happy for the Spencer. I think the gut joke was quite fun, and even nicer for the comic fans if it was the same as there. :)

I liked to see all of them, though I wanted to see more of Carol. It made me laugh to think that all the men visit there one by one with gifts and poor girl just wants to be alone! ;) And how Maggie is taking the leadership in her hands.

And I loved the ending with all the hugging, that was so sweet and made me happy. It was touching as I think Daryl couldn´t be sure if they would blame him for Glenn, and seemed to be so touched to see he was missed and loved. His only family now. I think it was sad he had to kill the "fat Joey" which probably wasn´t necessary thing to do, but I see that he snapped for being so close to get escaped and there was a fair chance for Joey to make an alarm for him, and he did have a gun after all. Still feeling sad for him.

Just to add... I watched Tara and finally noticed her boobs. ;) Ok, a bit bigger, but still, I don´t see that much difference it should be complained about. And her face is very cute this way.

what is there left to do to make it fresh though? Join up with the cast of FTWD? This show has been on for a very long time, it's kind of done everything. Personally, I'd like it to end with destruction of the saviors in maybe 2 more seasons. It's going to take a long time for all these ppl with no guns to take down Negans group without actually killing him. I don't see the writers coming up with a better villain ever either, so end it while your still going strong.

It makes no sense to me how already, Negan has been so close to being assassinated, and yet, he hasn't put fourth any measures to keep that from happening in the future. Not even a bullet proof vest? The whole savior community would implode on itself once Negan dies, so the group has the right idea when dealing with someone who holds so much power. Negan comes off as a very smart guy in some ways, but also shows how stupid he gets by letting all the power go to his head. You can't rule people with fear and not expect major backlash.

The way the comic storylines seem to be accelerating, I'd doubt we'll have another couple of seasons of The Saviours...

This is exactly why I have issues with this show now. It's going NOWHERE. If thier grand design is just to find new adversarialy 'groups' to pit Rick and CO. against, that **** is over and done with. They writers should go back to WHY does everyone turn, what caused it and move them towards some endgame thing, like finding a naval ship floating somewhere isolated from the mainland, and as long as no one ides on it, you don't have to worry about walkers. I just the other day for fun watched the first two episodes from S1, and man the walkers WERE something to be reconed with then. Now they are ridiculously slow, and dumb. As someone else said they could manipulate doorknobs, climb and even pick up rocks and use them against the door (department store). UNLESS it's part of some grand scheme thing that the longer you are a walker the dumber you get and less capable of doing articulated things. If so, MOVE TOWARDS THAT. Enough of this rick and co. vs. a superior group of 'survivors'. That ****'s so over and done with. The comiccs just need to stop as well, the wash rinse repeat is rife there too. I honestly think the writers of the comics and the show have no idea what to do anymore, almost as if they never would have imagined it going so far.

Are we watching the same show?

Are we watching the same show?

yes just watch the first two episodes of S1 TWD and you'll get what I'm saying. Walkers then were a lot more 'interactive'. One actually was seen using a rock to repeatedly smash the glass of the department store door in downtown Atlanta. When Rick and Glenn first meet htye have to climb up a fire escape, and walkers mass at the bottom, but one certainly takes motions to 'climb'. In the first episode, Morgan's wife goes to the front door and tries to open it, manipulating the doorknob. Flash forward to any walker seen in season 6 or 7 and they're just paralyzed dumbasses who don't look like they could manipulate anything.

Yes I know everyone turns eventually when they die no matter how you die you become one. This show has NEVER even hinted as to a 'why' aspect on that front. The writers are too engrossed in coming up with the next 'group' adversary than to come up with a better story arc/unanswered questions this show does present us with.

Kirkman has said since day one of the comic book that he isn't interested in the "why" or the "how" about zombies. This show isn't about humans living under a constant threat of zombies. It's about human beings and their ability to adapt in order to survive.

Making the show focus on how the plague was started and why would signal an even quicker death. Once those questions are answered, then what?

I've said it before and I'll say it again: TWD is a soap opera which just happens to have zombies in it. Period. If you are looking for more than that, you are going to find nothing but disappointment.

and you can only do that dynamic so many times....it's stale, it's getting old. WHEN they end this show, perhaps they should focus on something which gives or at least suggests some sort of 'why' aspect, it'd be nice for a change. And yes the moral we all see and know here is loud and clear, that humans are worse in human form than the zombies we all become, we get it. Didn't take 5 seasons of the same to get that point....

this show has to end sometime, right? They don't have to definitely answer all the hows or why's but at least shed some light on it before the show goes off air for good would be nice.
