Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

I thought Rick's non-reaction to Lori's affair with Shane was just that - a complete non-reaction. I don't know many men who would take that kind of news and justify it FOR Lori. She didn't even have to say anything. Just nod her head and turn the waterworks on.

Yeah, Rick is a forgiving guy, but let him get mad for awhile before going into forgive mode.

The scene just seemed off to me because he was all p!ssed off about the potential abortion, but then lost all his anger for the affair confession.

:exactly:

He flew off the handle when he thought about Lori having the abortion, but was cool as a cucumber when she admitted to him she boinked Shane. I think a "normal" guy would react the opposite in both situations. Or at least react the same at both things: Abortion? Outrage! Affair? Outrage! ~OR~ Abortion? Acceptance. Affair? Acceptance.

Especially given how in the comics, he stays there and waits for Shane to reanimate so he can re-kill him over the affair.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Nah, he has that wide eyed thing through out, and has that same look every time he gets upset or angry. He never backed up, never backed down - and most importantly, never looked away from Shane's eyes.

Actually, I think what Shane did in that situation was about as stupid as you can get. That sort of threat is what can get you killed, depending on who you make it to. Dale's threat to Shane gives Shane a chance to get out of the situation, without having to kill Dale - Shane's to Dale does not. It just proves to Dale that Shane is completely nuts, and if Dale was a bit more like Shane, he'd find a convienent way to kill him before he gets any worse. Lucky for Shane, that's not who Dale is.

This isn't going into a spoiler tag, since someone already mentioned it in the thread I believe. They said there was a promo for next week that shows Dale and Shane arguing in the woods about the guns, and then shows Shane coming out alone, with the guns. Hmmm. Now we all know how notorious tv promos are for doing what they can to lead us astray, but let's suppose for a minute that it plays out that way. Shane and Dale argue alone in the woods, Shane kills Dale, and leaves him there assuming zombies or animals will get him before anyone finds him. Ah, but this is where what only Rick knows (learned from the whisper at the CDC) comes into play:

Shane doesn't know that everyone who dies comes back a zombie. No reason to believe that, and contrary to what some believe it is a HUGE psychological difference for the people involved. So when Shane kills Dale, he shoots him, maybe in a struggle over the guns, maybe in the back like a coward...and doesn't realize he's going to come walking back into camp on his own power - and Shane is
busted! :D

Yea, it's a long shot for speculation, but I still thought it was an interesting idea.

Good theory. Another one is Shane and Dayle get into an altercation where Shane perhaps hits Dayle on the head and thinks he's killed him so he leaves but Dayle in the woods but he's just unconscious. If that's the case, I could see it playing 2 ways, Dale comes to and tells everyone in the group it was Shane or the group finds an unconscious Dayle who is then taken back to camp, and while severely injured and unconscious Shane starts to panic trying to find a way to get rid of Dayle and perhaps one of the group catches Shane trying to kill Dayle and this is where all of Shane's deeds come out in the open.

You'd think they wouldn't break the chicken legs - it would make for great entertainment on a Friday night round the farm!

You two do realize that the spoilers for this week's episode were posted last week? Just trying to save you from speculating. Unless that is what you like to do in which case carry on.

I read the spoilers for the next ep. I was talking about possible senarios for futures eps
since the spoilers posted don't state that Dayle is with Shane after Shane get the guns back. From what I read it sounded like he returned without him

I would've exploded all over the both of em :lecture

Yea, I don't think the Dale/Shane thing will finish playing out this week. At best, they'll have another argument, and I could see:

Shane killing Dale fighting over the guns, and it would be a cliff hanger til after the break as to Dale wandering back home...

I don't really see them killing Dale yet. Andrea's fling with Shane was likely that, a celebratory deal over her new found skill and confidence, nothing more. I think she'll still end up with Dale.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC

Rick didn't freak out because he already suspected something went down. That, and he understood. She didn't go behind his back; she thought he was dead. Plus, what pixletwin said. Not every guy is at the mercy of his own testosterone.

Lastly, he freaked out about the abortion because it was a secret she had been actively hiding when she attacked him for not being completely open with her.

Disagree. Again, he might have known about the affair but the realization she was pregnant, followed by the admission, would've put in question who the baby belongs to (and at this point, realistically, it could still be either). Add to that, again, this dude has been betrayed since the get-go by his wife and childhood friend. All in all, it was lazy writing and a huge disservice to the character. They could've just as easily had Rick say, "This is a lot to take in all at once. We'll deal with this later. Right now there are more important things to deal with." which would've fallen in perfectly with his character.

Again, in the comic, Rick's so pissed off at Shane that he lets him reanimate for the sole purpose of killing him again. That doesn't mean he's a "Shane," that mean's he's a human being with emotions.
