AMC is going to handle the Governor. He rapes michonne and beats her to within a fraction of life and cuts off rick's hand. Is AMC gonna drop that ball or be butch enough to take the show to this very dark place?

It's gonna be really interesting how AMC handles the beating & rape of Michonne, chopping off Rick's hand and What about Tyreese? He hasn't even been brought up in the show (Maybe season 3) and he gets beheaded by the Governor.

Also, the rape might find it's way into the story, but with it taking place off screen. I can't see Rick losing his hand though. Too expensive to keep digitally erasing Lincoln's hand.

Not referring to your post. I should have been more specific, I was referring to various news sources classifying the news as a spoiler and read at your own risk. Thought it was silly when AMC doesn't see it that way.

BTW, I just watched when Andrew Lincoln was on Letterman last week and they discussed his father in law....the great Ian Anderson!

I thought this as well but that would be slightly lame. T-Dawg is cool but he is no Tyreese.

This was my first thought as well but I agree with Somthing Sexy, T-Dawg's cool but he's no Tyreese.

I agree that Rick's probably won't get chopped due to the expense of the CGI each episode.

Nice to see they're going with the Governor arc. I wonder if they'll be going to the prison too? Maybe they'll end the season with them arriving at the Prison.

I am just gonna say it: this show kinda sucks. The comic is just way, way better and a less disjointed, melodramatic mess. I can't do this one anymore.

I don't blame the cast, but too much Shane, no Michonne - some white dude as Governor - sure, you gonna cast talent, but come on? He's kinda iconic and they couldnt find one minority type actor to fit the bill....

To comic book nerds, sure. But for people like me who don't read/like comics and watch this show because it's horror/zombie related then it's irrelevant. This is the same problem with books that are adapted to shows/movies. You get all the book nerds complaining about this and that and in reality all those criticisms are moot because the main target audience doesn't care and in most cases, aren't aware that what they're watching was originally a book.

Meh, ive always hated the Governor. The entire idea of forcing people to fight to the death for entertainment seems too "Mad Max" for me. Way too out there for a show that is fairly grounded in reality.

This should be in SPOILER tabs. Sheesh People... not everyone has read the comics in here.

I don't think AMC will have to digitally remove Lincoln's hand in every shot. Creative angles. Prosthetics. There are a ton of ways to do this. Hell... its not even expensive to paint out a hand... especially if he wears a luma green glove. It's intern work. Seriously. I'm a filmmaker I would know.

Exactly. I never read the comics and probably never will so all of this is new to me and I don't care one bit how much it deviates from the comics. I think its a great show and I'm going to keep watching.
