I've been thinking the same. Wonder if they'll actually do that, or if changing this scene will be one of the changes the are talking about making to the original story. Definitely some the most hard hitting scenes in comic history for me anyway.

The whole ending of the prison story was just so brutal on so many levels

You guys that are experiencing this story for the first time through this show are in for a real treat!

Not just the prison scene, remember what happens to Michonne and the aftermath of that? I'm not sure how they'll pull that off.

But, maybe they'll push the boundaries. That seems like the plan. And, you can get away with a lot on cable after ten, most channels just choose not to. I think the fact that after one episode it's got the best ratings of all time for anything on cable and is now the most popular show on tv affords them some boundary pushing leeway.

Finally got to see the commercial free Director's cut last night.
Seeing as I have not got chance to see the non director's cut, I have no idea what extra bits I was seeing.
It's a great show, and I'm really looking forward to seeing episode 2.
It's on FX in the UK which is great as they have an HD channel, which was a bit of a surprise when I read that most people can't see it in HD in the States

The first episode was better than most full lenght zombie movies that I have seen...

And we get 5 more hours this season and 12-13 more after that!!

Have you ever seen Mad Men? AMC does not skimp on production value.

It was good tonight, but it definitely had that been there, done that feel. I guess the fact that they could get me to sit through the ol' survivors escaping from a zombie infested mall bit and not be bored is a testament to the show's quality.

I almost can't believe that AMC exists and can release quality programs like this, Mad Men, and Breaking Bad and still get enough ratings to keep pumping them out. It is a good time to be a fan of good TV.

The show is definitely high quality, IMO, and certainly has me wanting more & more.

Even the little woman is enjoying the show...and she doesn't really like to watch horror shows/movies!
