Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Whether or not Randall was a credible threat isn't a question. Even if he's not, he needs to be treated as such. The question is whether or not that gives you the right to kill him, as well as the question of whether or not killing him is most advantageous for your survival.

I think the answer is no on both counts.

To pass the time until Sunday I think. :lecture

Four days. :lecture

The effect of Randall falling off the roof was Randall being caught in the fence. There he would have stayed to the end of his life had Rick not made the decicsion to remove him to the barn. I can't make that any clearer for you than that.

What you are saying is akin to the rapist who says that if a woman hadn't dressed so provocatively than he wouldn't have been tempted to rape her. Or the murdering husband who tells himself that he wouldn't have killed his wife if she hadn't slept with another man. Your logic is no less faulty than the rapist or the murderer.

Anyhoo I think at this point it is best if we both just gracefully agree to disagree about these imaginary people and their motives. :lol

I'm sorry, what? :lol So raping someone and justifiying a rape by placing blame on the victim (two actions by one man) is the same as Two men making decisions of their own that resulted in an impalement and a rescue? Seriously? The effect of Randall falling off the roof is indeed him being impaled. However, the discussion we're having is about Randall/Rick. Randall doesn't fall off the roof Rick doesn't have a decision. Any way you slice it, it all comes back to Randall on the roof. You can't put him anywhere on the farm without him first falling off the roof. That couldn't be any more concrete.

I do agree with you though we ain't coming to terms on this one.

That's fine. And you're more than welcome to walk the perimeter in a huff while we carry out the execution. Word of caution... Don't approach any disemboweled cows and for ____'s sake, if a walker attacks you, use the rifle butt and bat the sumbich back, don't hold your arms straight up and scream like a woman. :lecture:lecture:lecture

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

That's too easy.

Well, everyone blames Rick for "bad parenting", but he is trying to lead the entire group... What's Lori doing? Washing clothes?

Or hell, at least take a step away from the damn thing.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

You're equivocating, but whatever. :dunno

I'm not misleading anything, Mr. Sesquipedalian. I'm simply saying while you're entitled to your opinion, it's wrong in this case and such a severe risk to my camp's security would be eliminated without prejudice. If you need to get biblical about it, he was trying to kill them to begin with, so an eye for an eye. He was already dead the minute he slipped off the roof and skewered himself. Rick just prolonged the inevitable, tossing in the pain of surgery, the scare of being eaten by walkers at the public works, inhumane incarceration and torture.

Which is what, a tv-based Shane? :dunno

I'm not misleading anything

Dale's fate has nothing to do with the fact that Randall dead gives them a lesser advantage. Has nothing to do with them having no right to kill a man who they have no proof deserves to die, either.

Oh, but it does. If Rick hadn't brought Randall back, he wouldn't have had yet another excuse to skirt his responsibility as a father, would have spent more time tending to his child and as a result, Carl would never have enticed the zombie and led it back to the farm to eat Dale. Likewise, there would never have been a debate about Randall's death and Dale would never have needed to throw a temper tantrum and storm off in a huff. Rick's actions led to both.

What's funny is the one I got the official infraction for wasn't even bad. Hold on let me go dig it up. :lol

Funny considering you feel the need to conitnually reassure yourself post after post that you are winning an arguement, getting pm's from internet friends telling you are winning an arguement, and conitinually trying to take digs at someone because their opinion differs from yours. Let's go one post without you trying to lift yourself up. I also think it's funny that you having a diploma = you having a 4.0. I think your community college education is starting to reach it's limits. But keep reassuring yourself.

Re: The Walking Dead - TV Series on AMC ( Spoilers!!)

Nam, be honest, you're group would be Randall's group in this world.

Wrong. I'm more of a comic-based Rick. But thanks for playing. :wave

:exactly:

I love how people equate any type of killing as being a Shane or being bad guys. I've said it before and I'll say it again. My top priority would be to keep my friends and family safe. I wouldn't waste time, energy or ammo on some piece of sh-!t who was trying to kill me moments earlier. I also wouldn't pull a "devil" and debate the potential merits of this person and is he really a "good" person. You don't have that luxury anymore because if you are wrong, then you (and your family) could be dead. This is why devil wouldn't last long in this type of world. He is not a fast learner - because he has held the same viewpoint though out the course of this show. If he wants to label me as a Shane then I label him as a Dale - someone annoying and gets under your skin and goes off pouting when he doesn't get his way and carries around a rifle to look tough but drops it when a Walker attacks. :lol
