They sold them due to bankruptsy but now have the money to make movies but don't own the characters.

Hey come on now, Fox's upcoming "Blacktastic Four" will open the Fantastic Four up to a whole new audience of people ...that still won't give a crap about the Fantastic Four.

That's way lower than X-Men Origins: Wolverine ($34.4 million) and also slightly below X-Men: First Class ($21.3 million). In fact, it's the lowest start for an X-Men movie since the original movie in 2000. For the weekend, The Wolverine should earn between $50 and $55 million
What happened to this forecast:
Online ticket seller Fandango suggests the movie could open even higher; through the same point, The Wolverine is outselling X-Men: First Class by 39 percent, which would translate to a weekend around $75 million.

People always say that, but X1, X2, XFC and The Wolverine are, IMO, much better movies than IM2, IM3, Captain America, and arguably The Incredible Hulk. All the studios are hit or miss with these characters.
The only possible benefit of Marvel getting back the rights is Wolverine in an Avengers sequel.

People are weary to shell out money after X-Men Origins Wolverine? Can't say I blame them there.
