I'll find out Oct. 14 and I do have my hopes up. I can't believe that it could be that bad.

it's not bad at all. in fact it's better than Temple of Doom by a long shot. most of the complaints are just people who will complain about anything new just because it's new.
ignore them and enjoy the movie.

Temple is worlds better than KOTCS. Indy uses his trademark whip like twice in the whole flick and in the first ten min at that.

I do agree with people hating the new. I liked the new Star Wars Movies, Spidey 3, alot of stuff people hated and bashed.

I grew up with transformers and this was just an amzing movie.
visual effects where out of this world.

Tell me !! what is your favorite movie?

As did I, born in '78 so Transformers was about as kickass as it got when I was a kid. Favorite movies would be Conan the Barbarian, Excalibur, OT Star Wars to name a few.

i'm gonna go ahead and say most of you have never seen the really bad movies. i'm talking about grind house stuff. an entire genre of movies made by sleazy low-lifes who base their careers on churning out movies that are bad on purpose and just don't care about what they do. and i don't mean just the bad acting, or the bad effects, i'm talking about actual content. movies that are literally nothing but a series of badly filmed hackneyed rape scenes and no plot whatsoever. movies that make pornos look like masterpieces.
at least there are directors like Ridley Scott who bring artistry and a reverence for film to their work. Legend is a good movie. you not liking it doesn't make it bad. it just means you're a sheltered retard who grew up watching Pokemon movies.

Any movie pretty much bashed by MSt3k can be "The worst movie ever". Although according to THEM, Manos: The Hands of Fate is the worst. I disagree, Santa Conqures the Martians is. I couldnt even get through it all. Even with Joel and the Bots help, it was soooo unbearble. ^^^^ing Dropo.

those movies were at least quaint, if not funny (personally, i think they're hilarious even without joel and the bots). and i didn't feel like i needed to take a shower after any of them.

But people think those movie are bad because MST3K says they are.

Worst ever?

Wow....You need to watch more films. That is not the worst ever, by far.

Yeah, no doubt.

The Dark Knight Return is one of the worst movie ever...right up there with Gigli.

why does they kept on doing these "MOVIES"

Because, sadly, this is collective mentality of the majority of today's youth and the boneheads who produce this **** feed off of it. I've heard 18, 19 and 20-year-olds talking about these movies while in video stores, raving about how funny the last one was and had to see the next. Pretty f'n scary, really.

As for Legend being the worst movie ever, I have to strongly disagree. This is a classic movie. Like was said before--by today's standards, maybe not the best movie but it is still one of the most iconic fantasy films of all time. W/ Ridley Scott at the helm and effects by Robert Bottin--the worst movie??
Much of today's fantasy/sci-fi films rely heavily on CG effects to carry weak plot lines and acting. It's actually getting pretty annoying. Maybe because I'm from the old school and grew up being a fan of Harryhausen, Winston, Tippett and the true SFX masters.
To me, punching a bunch of computer keys and inputting data to produce "realistic" images just takes the heart and soul out of what it represents--with strong exception of the LoTR trilogy. But for someone 20+ years ago to produce the same thing in latex, clay and/or plastic and to watch it come to life on screen--there's the magic.

you are aware that Tippett uses CG almost exclusively now, right? guess who's studio did all the CG work for Cloverfield.
clearly, you have little, if any understanding of the talent and artistry that goes into creating CG characters and effects. it's a medium with practically no limits for creativity and the technology is evolving at blinding speeds these days. it will only get better and better while practical effects will continue look more dated and stiff by comparison.
Weta Digital (the CG effects studio who worked on your "exceptional" LOTR movies) will tell you the same thing i just said.

I understand quite well that people who deal in CG are extremely talented. When it's done right it can actually be awe-striking and breath-taking. I actually enjoy a lot of films that are heavily CG laden (i.e. LoTR, Matrix, Hellboy, etc., etc.). And I never once said that the people involved in that medium are dumb^^^^s, and please don't make me out to be some illinformed techno-basher. I understand the logic--it saves time and money 3-fold--and, yes, I've been aware of Tippett's studio using these methods for several years now. What I'm saying is that it is so saturated nowadays that people loose grasp on what they're supposed to be paying attention to--the story.
Why do you think Lucas spent hundreds of man hours building sets that only got 3 seconds of screen time? He wanted it to be convincing and immersing enough but didn't want it to detract the pace of the film.
