The causes of this type of terrorism are only partially rooted in religion IMO. There are geo-political issues that frequently are not discussed. There are a few more issues I can think of as well.

Very rarely do you hear the question asked "what do they want?" What does an end game look like for these guys? I have a hard time believing that they just woke up one morning and said "I think I'll set off an explosive at a concert." And I also have a hard time believing that they just want to destroy western society because they've had a ton of time to try to do that. Why is this happening now? I almost never hear an analysis that addresses these.

Anytime you go out of your way to specifically target teenage girls at a concert then you and all you stand for is morally bankrupt and is not deserving a seat at the global table. It's extermination time.

The damage is long done and more coming. Peace is harder to achieve than ever. The root of the problem are on both sides. Do we honestly think that we are so innocent?

No country is innocent. But everyday people sure are innocent . Kids are innocent . A lot of people are innocent.

The problem is that to.them everybody is an enemy. Every person alive. Even a little baby

Some people have theorized about fixed marriages and incest (which can be up to 70%) and how that affects their offspring.

You mean no innocent were lost on both sides? 20 or so lost their lives is a sad day of course. But guess no one really made a big deal that 50, 100 or so lost their lives over there. There is no such thing as a perfect bomb. Hospital got bomb too.

Your analogy reminds me of BLM. Thousands of blacks die at the hands of other blacks and not a peep from the black community. Let a cop rightfully kill a black man though and there is hell to pay.

Tens of thousands of people, from all cultures have been killed in the name of Islam. Do the Islamic leaders condemn it? Not very often. But let some civilians get caught in crossfire or collateral damage and that makes it alright I guess? Even though the free world is trying to rid these countries of tyrants and give the people some s mblance of rights. Do you know one of the main reasons Bin Laden hated the U.S? Because we got a coalition together to kick Saddam out of Kuwait.

The difference between them and us is our troops try to follow a set ROE. They go out of their way so that innocents are not harmed even so much that sometimes it costs them their lives. Many of the Islamist use the women and children as shields because they know we won't fire on them. They put anti aircraft batteries in hospitals and in mosques because they know we won't attack them. When the Islamist want to make a statement they don't get in even battles. They strike at the old, the kids, the women.

I can't even believe you're trying to compare. Look at what happening to homosexuality here? It's more accepted now than it ever was. What about there? It's illegal and they can get executed for it. Look at what's happening with all the refugees. They are fleeing their homelands because of how they are forced to live and where ever they go they try to change it to what they just fled.

Jesus lol... i was joking but lol

It's not wise to condemn an entire religion based on the actions of a few. Significantly less than 1% of Muslims are radicalized, and there are a billion of them in the world - most of whom choose to live their lives in peace with their neighbors. Isis views them as apostates, and wouldn't have any qualms about killing them, as they would any other person in the West. There are also a lot of Muslims living in the states, many of whom happen to be your neighbors, taxi drivers, restaurant owners, entrepreneurs, police officers, classmates, etc. I shouldn't even have to explain this, but some of you guys are casting way too big of a net on this issue, and with that kind of mentality, you're doing exactly what Isis wants you to do.

Actually, for Isis, their motivations and their actions are primarily rooted in their interpretation of the Koran. There are no geo-political issues to be discussed, and there's no negotiating with them. They want to bring an end to the Western world and our way of life - period. That's their only end game. The only rationalization with those monsters is to exterminate them.

It is actually bigger than that, a lot of people dont think isis is doing bad, Or people that hate gays. Or hit women. You should watch this

Someone should've pointed out to this sack of sh-t that if there's 72 virgins waiting in the next world they are probably Ariana Grande fans.

I have never read the percentage that low. Hell a quick Google search shows a minimum of 15% in every article on the first page of the Google search. For the sake of argument though let's say it's 1%. That's 10 Million radicalist.

Then the onus for stopping them should fall on others of the same religion, and for whatever reason nothing is done about it.

Unfortunately, as someone else mentioned, it's still a backwards thinking ideology, where women are at best second class citizens and gays are thrown off roofs in a best case scenario. Look at the cases of Sharia law honor killings that are attempted to be normalized in otherwise forward-thinking cultures. There's basically an attack carried out everyday somewhere in the world on behalf of this religion and somehow it's not a contributing factor?

The silent majority that stays quiet...

I will, thanks.

ETA mind blown and eyes opened. According to that film it's much worse than I even thought.

And shes from the religion.... the fact that they keep trying to silence her with death is terrible

I wish solidus gave it a watch.

Reminds me of v for vendetta and how he says "you cant kill an idea because ideas are bulletproof"

Reason destroys bad ideas. Most people are more afraid of that than bombs.

But, if shame is what you want, carpet bombing is your answer. Indiscriminate death where it hits home. 100,000 of theirs for every one of ours. Fear of revenge? Lol. But no fear of what they're doing now? A culture afraid to defend itself intellectually or physically deserves to be overrun by vermin.

Until then, prayers and ever-expanding security perimeters. How many walls can you build, Constantinople?
