I suppose it's hard to say having only been to one, which, as I said, I ruined on myself. In theory I don't like the huge crowds - having to fight your way to the toilet and back, mud (if it's an outdoor concert - because it always rains), taking ages to get a drink. Seems like it'd be better to watch them on youtube.

I'd give it another try and do it better but my group doesn't tend to go to concerts anyway.

I haven't been to a big concert for over 20 years - youth makes the toilet and drink queues tolerable . Some of my best nights out have been smaller gigs, but the 80s and 90s had some solid big acts. If your buddies aren't into it though it'd be hard to muster up the enthusiasm.

Having been lucky enough to see literally hundreds of bands live...I can say the venue makes all the difference....

I used to go to concerts a lot years ago, usually by myself because most of my friends don't like the same music I do or don't want to spend the money on concerts. I quit going because most bands don't play near me anymore and when they do, it's just too expensive. I have other things I'd rather spend that kind of money on. Add to that I can't get out like I used to, so.... :(

Actually, I've been to 2 - I was at a Glee concert with my ex :lol I dunno if that counts...

You've been to one.

Australia has a great pub band culture, they're really good venues. INXS, Midnight Oil, AC/DC, Living End... all got their start on the pub circuit.

It is very expensive. I can't remember when tickets passed the hundred-dollar mark in Oz but it was quite a while ago.

I too have only been to one concert. The Madonna 'whos that girl' tour back in '87. I still have the ticket :rock
x

Even if you're not into her music she did put on a great show. I'm kinda bummed I never saw her back then. Queen would've been good too, another band I missed.

The phrases:

I'll let you in on a little secret.

That's what I'm talking about.

This isn't my first rodeo.

greatest concert of all time is Metallica. their screen show is just really amazing. some parts took my breath away (im not even joking) they are so great live

I haven't seen that many concerts live, mainly because of the crowds and having to stand for hours. The last concert I saw was Guns 'N Roses several years ago. It was awesome even if Axl can't hit those notes like he used to. I think the one I saw before that was Prince, which was the best show I've seen in my life--live or on tv.

I've seen metallica 5 times. They always put a good show. Not a big kiss fan, but their 96 reunion show was the best.

I've only seen them once @ Reading Festival - Excellent performance. If I could choose, I'd attend the S&M concert they did way back when, love that session and I bet it was nothing short of epic in person.

I've seen Tool & NIN 5 times each, and for me they put on incredible performances, especially Tool - MJK is an absolute Boss. I do hope we get a new Tool album this year..

Couple of Things I F#$%ing hate (right now):

1) Nose breathers. Life time hatred.

2) Grown Men who chew (bubble) gum and blow bubbles lol - It's the popping sound more than anything :lol

Both =

Nose breathers?...isn't that at least half the population? :lol

Quite Possibly! :rotfl

I just find it's more obvious with certain people :dunno For example, if someone is eating something in a quiet office, it becomes far more obvious and a hell of a lot more annoying. :lol

Just recalled another:

People who loose their voice and still continue to work in Customer Service. I was in a super market store the other day and a woman at the lotto kiosk couldn't speak, voice had gone through illness.

I'm not suggesting it's her fault these things happen, but for the love of F SAKE why would you continue to work on the smoking / lotto kiosk where spoken communication with customers with that irritating barely audible voice is going to be at the forefront of your job. :gah:

Either: Communicate with your boss by note (lol) and suggest you are re-tasked OR as a boss you would say No, just No - I'm putting you on X job today.

It's happened a few times and it really grinds my gears :monkey3
