Parking as far away from the shop as possible and still some moron has to roll up and park next to me, **** off I like my doors dent free :lol

That happened to me a lot as well. What's funny is, I could park clear out in the parking lot with no one around me at all. Come out of the store and there's a car parked on either side of me. Tons of parking places around me too. I just gave up.

Yeah it's like safety in numbers or something. I don't mind the walk and would rather leave damage free.

I'm a hypochondriac from way back. When I turned 40 I went to a doctor and pretty much begged him to shove an exploratory digit up my arse to confirm a healthy prostate (he didn't).

Then I told him I smoked pot for 15 years, had worked in industrial workshops around all sorts of dodgy materials, and had had at least one decent exposure to asbestos - and even then he only referred me for a chest x-ray to get me the hell out if his office. Goddam university doctors, I tried them all out at the health centre 'cause the consults are free for staff and students, and they were all rubbish. I'm lucky that for more specific, serious stuff (like my arthritic hip ffs) I can call on my dad who's a surgeon.

But 55 Euro, man, I thought Ireland had a solid universal health care system? We pay $20-30 for a single consult, but there are plenty of clinics that don't charge at all. Still, I'd suggest a consult before dismissing the ache as psychosomatic - any ache or pain out of the usual (ie doesn't feel like anything you've previously experienced) and that hangs around for weeks is worth getting looked at.
Thing with prostate exams is that there are a lot of false positives, and fallout from an unsuccessful surgery seems to me intolerable (loose bowels). I'd 100 times over die of cancer than have to live the rest of my life worrying about ****ting my pants (especially if it turns out the tumor was benign).

Anyway, beyond trying to live a reasonably healthy life, it seems to me it's mostly luck of the draw. I just found out an ex-manager of mine's husband was diagnosed with brain cancer and has ~six months to live. Guy is a nurse and wasn't reckless with his health. Didn't do him much good. For me, beyond not courting disaster, it's not worth worrying about.

Intolerance to the Easter Bunny.

I am indifferent towards the Easter Bunny. On the one hand, it is a crass commercial gimmick exploited by chocolate makers to sell egg-formed chocolate at more than double the price of slab-shaped chocolate. On the other hand, it is a delicious reminder of Easter's hijacked pagan origins. Nom nom!

I read a news article relating to that yesterday, and I'm not sure if that's what you're referring to :lol. But, if it is, then I agree. I find it insulting when people immigrate to this country to flee from oppression, but then try to enforce their own views of religious intolerance on others.

If your place is anything like our place, then it's more the PC locals than the new arrivals who are responsible for the Santa and Bunny hate.
