Tough crowd! Ok well, remember to tip your waitress. I mean waiter/waitress, also waitresses who view themselves as waiters and vice versa, I mean waiters and waitresses who never made a conscious decision to become waiters and waitresses, I mean waiters and waitresses that should also be promoted to managers but were discriminated against because they were abused as adult children, I mean waiters and waitresses that are non-human. Also; transhuman wait/ers/resses, hybrid love service bots, proponents of "less filling" and "tastes great", adherents of CNN, devotees of Pokemon, Bronies, brain transplantees, pillow manufacturers, and banned youtubers.

60% of the state I live in receives some form of government assistance.

Is that just the bottom dwellers, or does welfare creep into the middle classes as well? In Oz even if you're earning the average wage, you can get thousands of dollars per year in welfare just for having kids. It's outrageous. But a previous government legislated it to cement its power, and neither of the two governments since have been game to scrap it 'cause folks have of gotten used to the free money :slap

Yes, it's everywhere. Disability in particular has become one of the most popular 'professions' in the U.S. There's excellent money in being able to convince the state that you're either too crazy (chronic anxiety will suffice; a history of drug use will qualify you as well) or too physically incapacitated (and no, that doesn't mean crippled; not even close) to work ever again. Other than that, having kids you can't afford will get you plenty on which to live comfortably. Rent, food, healthcare, higher education, etc. The worse your situation (the greater your victimhood), the more you can get. If you're earning and struggling, you're out of luck.

Generations have grown accustomed to this and it's not exclusive to any ethnic demographic. It's just expected, presumably on account of it being 'the right thing to do'.

this one the other hand is got my head scratching...:dunno

What I have heard from my sis who lives in Dubai, is that they wear all kinds of designer clothes under that burqa. From their hair to shoes, they spend crazy money on everything. Could be that this is mostly with the upper class, and maybe in Dubai. The burqa is a thing for when they are in public; at home or places of rendezvous, they are different.

I understand. What I don't understand is the extremity of contempt for humanity in general that lies beneath the conviction that feminine beauty should be concealed (nor do I respect it).

I hate U2's free album. I had low expactations but since it was free I figured "what the hell" and gave it a listen.

It sucked.

Bad.

I like a couple of the songs, but there's nothing new there at all. I still prefer their 80s stuff the best.

I really liked War and The Joshua Tree back when I was in high school. But, I simply cannot stand U2 anymore. Bono's voice makes me cringe, probably because so many of his songs sound the same.
