Half the problems on this planet would be solved if the process was actually permitted to function.

I've been reading a lot of Heinlein lately. In a later book, a character is talking about how the human diaspora into space destroyed Earth, and it did so because the best and brightest left. The remainder were the chaff of the species and they essentially imploded. Prior to migration, the planet had its problems, but it wasn't until the problems were left to their own devices, relieved of the mitigating effects of the problem solvers, that things truly went to hell.

oh man i spent 3 hours in the yard yesterday (front) need to finish up the backyard today. love this time of year.........grass is coming back, everything is turning green, flowers blooming, vegetable garden coming back to life...........

I hate it already and I haven't even started yet. I have a yard full of these suckers and I swear if I had a ton of extra money, I'd have my neighbor's tree cut down. It's a Sweet Gum tree.
