The company doesn't release any clear pics of the proto or production figure, but people line up to throw 180 quid at it (about three hundred bucks). Now the sets have shipped and people are posting straight away that it needs a body swap, the signature trenchcoat is awful (steam treatment might make it better), and the paint could do with a wash coat...

And everyone seems happy as Larry. I just don't get it.

Yea I don't care for any of their finished products. Was all set for the 4th Doctor, but they don't look right. And for the price they want, it's a pass. Which sucks because it will prolly be another 10 years for a high end offering of Who.

I got the 4th Doctor and it's ok... in a 2008 Sideshow-at-2014 Hot Toys price kind of way.

I guess I'm not a guy for these drawn-out custom projects. I do have some customs, but they were figures that were pre-completed and I was lucky enough to be the first to express interest and send the money. They were paid for and shipped in normal timeframes as though it were a regular figure bought from a retailer.

But all these scratch-built mass commissions, it's hard to have any faith in them. Anything I ever expressed interest in hasn't ended up happening. I'd be so pissed off if I had paid any sort of deposit.
